The following toons are associated with someone who attempted (poorly might I add) to hijack our guild:
Adaan, Cooth, Gard, Maurice, Quickshot, Toadman, Zackery, and Zonner
The details are as follows:
Our officers received a recruiting message from a toon named Cooth. Our guild does not have strict policies on recruitment, we simply ask for people to go to our website and read the charter before accepting an invite. We invite the toon when they say all is cool, and promoted them to our version of probation period noob. Guild business went as it normally does for the next hour or so. The guy wasn't talkative or anything but we don't mind quiet folk.
Background on our guild that makes this situation so colorful. We have co-leaders, my wife (Rainna) and I. Our guild roster clearly labels us as the two guild leaders, both on the website and in game.
Our new member logged out. Then as rarely happens, I get a tell from a stranger. Immediately I think to myself, maybe it is the guy's alt and he wants an invite. It was then that I was treated to a surprise:
Adaan tells Whiggy, "Hi."
Whiggy tells Adaan, "Hi."
Adaan tells Whiggy, "this is Rainna."
Whiggy tells Adaan, "No, it isn't."
Whiggy tells Adaan, "You (Rainna) are sitting right next to me and you aren't even logged in."
A quick browse of
www.eq2players.com yielded the info I expected. Adaan was Cooth's alt who was trying to impersonate the co-leader of our guild. I asked myself, to what end would someone try to impersonate my wife.
