I agree with you on this somewhat. This is your site. You run it and pay for it. You do wtf you want to this site and no one can stop you. You can tell everyone to go fuck themselves.

However, the part I kinda don't agree with is your goal for this site. From what I understand, you made this site for free-speech dicussion (That's damn well what the search engine description you entered says). Once you go decide to ban something, there will always be accusations of favoritism and unfairness. Also, banning anything, makes this NOT free-speech.

There is a standard at play on this site until today. It was all fair game. Then one term that was no less or more offensive than any other was censored. I'm not a hippy nor do I believe in free speech as you seem to think I do.

I don't use the word in my life, but who am I to say who can or can't? And like I said before, either ban none or ban them all. All that banning one does is show a lack of personal values, and the ability to be pushed around in a social and political manner.

So I registered in what, December? 3 months and I'm sure alot went down. Some of it still shows up today. But because I didn't register before others doesn't mean that I have to accept a spineless person. I don't believe I'll be banned, but I have a set of values that stands up for something.

This site is, and has always been, free speech subject to the Site Rules. From day 1, the Site Rules have prohibited the use of Hate Speech. I've enforced it before against derogatory comments made toward black and jewish people, it has never been an issue, and I've never received a complaint, about that with respect to gays or any other group or classification of humanity.

So this site has NEVER, EVER, been a pure free speech site. And we've never ever claimed that either. This site has been about being a place where you can talk about anything you want that doesn't involve criminal activity, violating anyone else's rights, unwanted physical contact or violence toward other people, hate speech, or anything that could possibly cause the FBI to show up on my doorstep for a chat.

I'm glad we've cleared this up, and now hopefully you understand this is not a pure free speech site. If it were, this site would quickly dwindle down to 5 dudes posting porn and highly disturbing medical and injury photos to gross each other out, and saying N this and N that. Sorry, feel free to create your own site to do that if you want the 5 users from this site who'd be interested in that kind of format, because we would lose all of our other users by allowing that here.

The "standard" is dictated by LFG because it's his site. You are not a member of the content committee any more than I am. My basis is on the grounds that no one should be pissed at because of race period. If you don't agree, you are a racist and that's it. It's your choice and that's fine, but accept what you are and stop hiding behind free speech.

How in the hell don't I have values? Am I like you agreeing with the popular majority about EVERYTHING? Have you once gone against the grain since you've been here? They haven't been banned before because it hasn't been a problem until today.

I took time out from my work day and read the instruction manual for the bad words filter. I believe I now have it set so you can say words like night and nigh, but not the N word or any partial or slang expression associated with it. If I've missed any of those expressions, I'm sure I'll find them soon based on the human tendency to do shit as a cry for attention so long as it only negatively affects other people like me. And when I find those other permutations of the N word, I'll also add them to the filter.

My point was and is, either all slurs are blocked, or none are blocked. No one deserves special rules. As Niber pointed out, it is for all slurs, and so I appologized to LFG for the attack.

You have no values because you jump on the bandwagon against one particular racial slur. Its never come up that I know of that I've read where you support such actions or anything like that, but from what I've seen of you today, you only take a stand when its in one situation. And you jumped all over this one.

My point is different than yours. I believe that they are all atrocious things to say, but if you ban one, by God, you better ban them all. I know its LFG's site, but I've got the same right to express my values that everyone else has.
