Pretty ignorant statement imo. I'm guessing you have probably only heard the likes of Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under, which is classic, but generic death metal. There are many death metal bands that have some sweet rhythim(I can't spell) and wailing guitar solos. Here's an example that I thought of off the top of my head that, imo, has a good rhythim. I specifically enjoy the guitar work in this song. try listening to the whole thing.

This is death metal, a lot of people call this kind of death metal melodic death metal though.

Avenged Sevenfold isn't even close to death metal, not sure how that got brought up. I'm personally not a fan of them, but they have some good guitar solos imo.
