There are two defensive proc items she's missing that would greatly help her tanking ability. Anyone care to specify?

Fuck it, let me answer anyway. Kaalia is a crazy nutcase that is so far off the beaten path that s/he is of great interest to me.

Get Kaalia the Enspelled Vultak Eye and the mit-proc shoulders from Nizara. I'm very curious at this point how far we can go with this, to see what a battlemage can accomplish exactly.

I am always curious what mages are able to accomplish without fighters. One of the neatest ideas I ever attempted back in the day was a 5-mage, 1-healer Den of the Devourer run. It was mentally exhausting but so much fucking fun, I'd love to do it again with 5 other raid-geared players.

When i make a new toon one of the first thing i do is add Kaalia to the ignore list.

I'm not a supporter of the "Battle Mage" build but there is an ongoing discussion on the eqplayers forums about battlemages - http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/p...opic_id=349972

If you're going to play this way, you're going to be spending a whole lot of time explaining to groups WTF you're trying to do.

On my server there's no shortage of tanks - and even if there was, I don't see a wizard as the likely replacement.

If I actually did a PUG and some dipshit wiz tried telling me he was tanking I'd definately tell him to go fuckhimself.

The mit/avoidance he has in his character profile doesnt mean shit in a zone like unrest. But, again, he's too dumb to know how the game works. Why? Because being a wizard, he has no uncontested avoidance. So against a lvl 74^^^ he'll have zero avoidance. His 3500 mit? Fuck that shit, he'll be getting fucking rocked.

Anyways, I think this guy is a dipshit. And you raid with this guy? With his retard ass spec and considering how fucking dumb he is, he's prolly putting out 700 dps. I dunno, I think he's a waste of a raid spot as well as a spot in any PuG.

wait maybe he is just more imaginative then the rest of you fucks. Sounds like the rest of that group was having fun letting a mage tank, Why should they do it the same boring old way? WTF is wrong with adding challenge for yourself?

if you prefure to be lazy and only group with specific set ups! more power to you! but dont bitch because someone else likes to do it differently and more challanging. its pathetic.

Really who the fuck cares how he plays? Again if you dont like it just dont group with him. No one held a gun to your head.

oh and last I checked Tanking *IS* all about holding agro, Anything else is just a bonus. Warriors do naturally have higher HP and mitigation so they would be my first choice to, duh.

Dont get me wrong, yes i do think that Kaalia (the guy behind the keyboard) is somewhat of a nice guy with crazy idea...

As far as that battlemage bs... Yes i do think that, well, it's a pure waste of time. But hey if that is what he wanna play it's his choice...

Trust me when i say that if he try even once to do that bs in a raid the "get the hell out" button will be triggered so fast he wont know what hit him and he know that.

And actualy in a raid he's usualy in the top 5 parser. Between 3 and 5k in each fight...

So yes as dumb as his set up sound even for me, yes he is able to do a decent job in a raid (not as a battle mage freak but as a wiz)

Been a zerker myself, yes i do think that most of the tanks do not know their job well...
Out of 10 tanks, any class, 6 dont know what the hell they are doing, 2 are good tanks and 2 are awsome tanks.

So saying that a battle mage is better then any tanks is of course ridiculous (refering to what he told Borr) but yes out of the 6 tanks that dont know shit and just push button, as dumb as it sound he Kaalia might beat a few in those.
