Was there anyone else who would have rolled for the ring?

Granted the guy should have just said so from the start, but since he's leader he obviously formed the group, he probably built it around no one else needing the ring. That ring does fuck all for an illusionist and for one to roll on it over a sorc is about as bad as him ninjaing it without saying anything prior.

I for one appreciate the heads up on this guy, it was a dick move regardless of who could best use the item. Not someone I'd want to group with. I've seen Quuli on most nights wanting this zone in 70-79, if he new from the start he never had a chance at the ring I'm sure he wouldn't have wasted his time on the group.

id be pissed imo. took me along time to get that ring. i told my groups from the start i was only running the zone to get the ring. i brought a paly buddy+my own healer buddy. so was mostly just pick up bards/chanters so they knew it was coming.
pick up group. w.o any warning. is kinda dick. yeah sorc > chanter for ring. buts its a pick up group, tell people shit in advance.

My rule in NBG groups is "If it's an improvement over current gear, need it. If you want it for alt gear (resists or solo), then ask the group before needing it". It doesn't matter if it's a *huge* improvement for the wizard and a minor improvement for the illusionist, the illusionist should have a chance to need it.

This is a decent ring for illusionists -- 7th best on our semi-official gear list and 3rd best on our instance-only gear list. He should have either let the illusionist roll on it or come to some sort of agreement with the group before leader-only looting it.

That's exactly where I disagree, because it does matter. The illu can have a better ring easily from raids, while the wizard can't.

As an example, Charm of the Lost drops in Befallen. Would be a huge upgrade for the tank, however the dirge has MC dolls in his charm slots and thus NEEDs it. After all, it's an upgrade, amirite?

I chatted briefly with someone in Remnant and they were surpised about Tacas' actions, mentioning something along the lines of it being out of character for him.

Anyways, Lessing's points are valid only if he had been running the instance with guildies because, as we all know, those guildies are going to benefit more from a sorc having the ring than a chanter. Problem is, this wasn't a guild run... it was a PuG. That and 25pp is chump change.

Anyway, this is prolly more appropriate in the Najena forums, but it does have potential. Especially if more Remnant people flock here pissing and moaning like Lessing.

If and when you run a pickup group you need to clarify beforehand if there is a specific item that is "off limits" for others to roll on. This clarification is generally best spelled out at the begining of a group, long before the item in question actually drops. This way it gives people who also would like to roll on it the option of leaving. It's common sense and manners, not sure which one this guy is lacking.

I give it 4 stars for having screeny and boobs in the thread. The guy was a douche regardless if your an illy or not. Its all good if they tell you when the group starts that they are there for a specific item(s). If he comes and post here and cause some good drama, i would give it 5 maybe.
