lol, yeah thats true... guess I didn't think about people not having that $50.00 lying around somewhere

Fine, let them continue to move toons to the Bazaar to sell, but make them pay fitty dollah for the transfer.

That alone would up the stakes and make people think twice before transferring. Prolly increase revenue for SoE also.
I think the $50 will stop being transfering thinking they can sell and go, because your stuck here once you transfer so people will think twice before doing it. I'm sure it won't stop people from raiding guilds (ie NPU Disso etc) from transfering because they know they'll make it back when they do sell, but if you add the $10 listing fee on top of the $50 transfer fee, more people will seriously consider it twice before transfering .. Right now, people just transfer and say who cares since its free - nothing to lose except the $10 if you decide you want to list your character. I highly doubt they'll ever stop the transfers to Bazaar, since well .. theyre making cash off all sales but they really should consider the moving fee.

Long before SoE had Legends (defunct EQ-1 Server) and Exchange, people were buying and selling level 65 Toons through IGE for sometimes thousands. They always have and always will find a means to sell toons and game gear on the Black Market.

SoE simply provided a legit way to sell on the game, nothing more. If anything, their policy of no transfers off of exchange servers limits the value of average geared toons to simply alt. utiliy/tradeskillers.

Comparing the value of toons to the "old school days" is also not accurate as the leveling has been so greatly expedited that toons below level 50 are pretty much worthless as anyone with a few days of time can make one.

I think turnover is bad here... but ins't it like 100x worse on station exchange? After a bad day of raiding a button on the mailbox to sell your character for hundreds of dollars would probably be an incredible temptation

Especially since you might be able to buy the same toon back a week or two later if you changed your mind =p

oh yeah the turn-over rate here is simply aweful. A lot of the same people tend to stick around but its like one day your buds a guardian and the next day he's trying to play a coercer... annoying...

LFG: funny you should say that... the Disso SK has been up for sale atleast 10 times... started out at like 1200 and down to like 300 now :smiley-very-happy:
