Freebl/Grobb and Pasithea/Unrest

I've been getting more system notices of people registering multiple accounts on this site in the past two weeks than I have in the past several months.

This case is particularly bad, and I'm going to permanently ban this person and all IPs he's ever used unless he comes up with an ironclad excuse within 24 hours.

I got this notice from the system:

Freeb seems to have multiple personalities using Pasithea and Freeb sharing the same computer.

That is the notice I receive when one person registers an account from the same physical computer used to register a previous account. The system knows this with certainty based on cookies installed when a new account is registered. We use about 4 different utilities to check for this, so defeating one will not defeat the others.

I checked it out and yes, in addition to registering the account "Pasithea", the Freeb account was originally registered by someone named Freeble in Paragon on Grobb.

As many of you know, the story doesn't stop here. The Pasithea account was used to make a fraudulent entry in my Miss EQ2Flames contest, complete with cute pictures and a heart-rending story about how this "young girl" was born deaf and the obstacles she overcame.

I'm personally offended by this attempted scam, and for me, that takes a lot.

What I'm still confused about is how our hero made a pretty good and convincing post, but he wasn't smart enough to realize that the prize in this contest is an airline ticket to Fanfaire. Airline tickets are non-transferrable and issued in specific names. You need to show government ID to board an aircraft, and that ID needs to match the name on the ticket.

So I'm not sure if this guy was (1) having a sex change operation or dress in drag so he could board a commercial jetliner under a female name, or (2) going to try and get fake ID to match the female name that would be on the ticket, or (3) he was just a stupid fucking idiot who was going to waste my money. Probably just 3.

You have 24 hours to respond with the excuse of a lifetime, or I'm perma banning you on this site.

The story seems a little too elaberate to be a total fabrication IMO.

My guess is this guy wanted to enter his girlfriend /mother / sister ect. and get her a free ticket to join him at the Fan Faire. I'd like to think the whole story about her is true except for the fact she doesn't play EQ2 and is just somehow connected with Freeb who does play EQ2.

You know, I'd really love to believe that this girl does exist.

To me, the senses are one of the most amazing gifts we are given, and when someone is given one of them back, it touches a soft place in my heart. Especially hearing since music is one of my private passions in my life.

When I read that it was a scam, I was disgusted. I learned a long time ago that the internet can bring out the very worst in people and this fuckbag is no exception. It's assholes like him that drag down the level of humanity. What a waste of DNA.

I can understand why some see the fake post as funny and others may not. I don't find it very funny. If the whole deaf thing hadn't been played out several times before, it might get a few shock giggles, but by now.....it's just poor taste.

You had to know someone was gonna make a bogus entry or two. Combined with the inference that this is "EQ2Flames - LFG's LFGirlz", you were bound to be mentioned (or hinted at, i.e. put the pieces together yourself). It's the deaf card that was/is unnecessary and distasteful.

This is essentially another 'anon fucktard' post, due to using a seperate acct. Dipshits like that don't deserve 24 hrs. Perma ban his ass and move on.

Flaming is a tough business though.

Well i felt the thread was sexist to boys and i really wanted the t-shirt...

Sarcasm aside, it was a complete inside joke for my guild and the past members of my guild who were in it during the reign of Pasithea (Nixin). I'll just explain what he did quickly. Recluse, our old brigand, one day logged in vent and said that his new job was limiting his play and that he was going to quit for an unknown amount of time. The next week, Recluse aka Nixin apped to paragon under the name Pasithea claiming that he was a deaf girl who felt uncomfortable to speak in vent. He posted pictures manipulating his way inside the guild and taking loot as he went. One day he somehow got himself banned and logged onto ventrilo as Recluse and offered his 70 dirge alt to Pasithea to act as a saint inside the guild. He then continued to play the dirge and take more gear from our scouts and then he eventually announced that he was going to quit. He then popped up again and claimed that he was back as Recluse and after he had donated his character to Pasithea (Himself), he weaseled himself into the officer position for being the great hearted person he was. Eventually we tracked his ip as you did me and he was removed from paragon.

The goal of the post was really just to have a little laugh in the guild and i wasn't planning on accepting any awards. I was going to respectfully decline the award because my legs were just amputated and i am bedridden with a computer in my lap 24/7.
