I think you'd be insane not to find every bit of evidence you could when it comes to your kids. Its not like the Email was about her taking him for every penny he has. If it was a money issue I'd agree he went to far.

We gamers will put up quite a fight to ensure people understand we have definite lines between gaming persona and RL. Especially the MMO gang. The part some of you are missing/forgetting/ignoring is that the majority of the non-MMO-playing population sees us much differently. They also don't see the tangible difference between a video game and the forums that discuss it - as we do.

The guy was sincere for a few good reasons, too. There is fucking ginormous bias towards mothers in custody cases. Mothers must be practically found to be crackhead axe murderers to lose custody cases - in any sense of the word 'lose'. Hositility toward fellow players, most of whom are probably minors, is just the kind of garbage/dirt/ammo needed in those custody cases. He's looking for that stuff to show a pattern of abusive behavior toward minors in an attempt to legitimize his own claims against her towards the children he is trying to get custody over. Was he honestly doing it out of love for his kids or out of simple spite? Who knows, who cares.

Is it cold? Maybe. But the desensitization of society to such actions or tactics is far greater than you may think. All the more reason to think twice before undertaking the responsibility of marriage and most certainly a marquee reason for protected sex.

My opinion is that if he needs this stuff to make an argument, he has already lost the case.

I think you're reading all the wrong intentions in that dudes post. I think he just wants his kids, and he's trying to get an idea of what his (soon to be) ex wife is up to. If she's fucking minors online, thats some pretty good ammo in a custody case.

Having been through the custody thing, I know the "tricks" to get a mediator to find for you (not sure if it would work on a judge, but sure as hell worked on the mediator) and it involves making sure that everything you say involves "I'm worried about the kids...." If this guy truly wants his kids, and knows he has an uphill battle, can you really BLAME him for googling her name and finding out wtf she's been up to? I'm honestly shocked my own ex didn't do the same!

Aint that the truth, it usually boils down to who has the money and the more expensive lawyer wins.

I think what the guy is doing is just plain cheezy, soliciting for any scrap of dirt to use in a custody case. sorta makes you wonder if his wanting custody is because he thinks its the best thing for the children or the best way to get back at his wife.
