This is yet another anonymous Runnyeye/UK poster who is posting under 2 accounts.

I guarantee this person has made posts trashing the guild Defiant using the same physical computer while pretending to be two different people.

I'm not sure what the issues and extreme hatred between UK players is all about, but I do know that dealing with the problems and complaints from people who play on this one server alone is taking up at least half my time as an Admin.

I think I have no choice but to just begin banning anonymous accounts originating in the UK when they are created or used by people who violate the Site Rules against using multiple accounts to pose as different people.

Oh, and BTW, I'm merging "Scousesmoker" with "Thetruth" - "Thetruth" will be the surviving account.

Action against UK accounts alone won't do much, for a while in Fable, I was the only Brit in the guild. They're officially UK English servers, but I'd say 90% of the people on the server were based outside the UK (Scandinavia and the Netherlands mainly, but there are people from all over).

No, it didn't sound like that. It's just that most people on the EU servers are outside the UK, meaning there's a much wider range of IPs you'd need to monitor.

My definition of an anonymous poster on this board is one who posts without revealing their main character name or what guild they are in. It seems that the majority of the time, these people have an axe to grind with another person or guild, and they want to post highly negative and sensationalist things about the other person or guild without allowing anyone to know who they are.

It's cowardly, IMO, but I've talked about this to death and can't prevent someone from posting anon on one account. All I can do is keep people from doing this on multiple accounts.

In this particular instance there's a lot of griefing going on (as opposed to flaming or *gasp* conversation). Most of it is coming from folks who have registered anonomously, which we defined as "we have no clue who you are from in-game or from the official forums".

It's a two-part issue: this behavior that's largely coming from anonymous persons, and persons provably registering more than one login and using the anon one(s) to grief or emphasise thier point.

Sylvia's behavior starting here is an example.

There's no way to really control the anons, and we don't necessarily want to. I mean, no one can possibly know every player in the game, and we're bound to get new players no one's ever met, and they're quite welcome.

We're trying to affect some control over the abuses.
