Furri and I became officers the same day, we were pretty much asked "so you want to be an officer to help us out?" our answers were yes.
Everyone did the standard "grats" it was like 10 minutes before raid, everyone knew what happened, there were no "OMG IM LEAVING GUILD CUZ ULTOR DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING" threads on our website. Defamation found out like 3 weeks later, cuz he never paid attention to anything, and it shocked him and he left guild halfway through a lyceum raid. Thats when people starting making an issue about the leadership. Ticktock left, Rathma left, Linoge left (family issues). Our 2 swashs quit, verak left to vendetta, our pally went to NPU with his zerker. Blanka left, Dynamo and aowynn left, simyn and saddie left. Then zindrik leaves. The man has been in the guild for 2.5 years, grandfather of the guild, it just broke the guilds back. Zindrik had the right to leave the guild, as did everyone else. If I were leader i would probably have done the same thing Cron did.

This is Llewrend, 23 month member of The Downward Spiral, and I'm here to set the story straight since so much false shit is being posted that I can't see straight.

OK: Furriest DID NOT kill the guild. Simyn quitting DID NOT kill the guild. The guild was dead for over a year and was slowly dying.

It's like the adage; would you rather die immediately or painfully slow? TDS died painfully slow.

Gather around for the story of the proverbial downward spiral of The Downward Spiral.

It all begins back in February of last year, around when KoS was releasing. TDS is coming off of a strong t6 dominance, and is stuck between a choice of leaving to Mistmoore or going head on at Dissolution. People spoke, and they were confident the guild could manage Disso. The day KoS was opened to the masses, Tunabash was no where to be found. No post, no heads up, but Tuna wasn't on. He never came back. So there we were stuck without our main tank and hardcore members quitting left and right. Reznor had left about a month after Tuna, and we were left with a shell of the hardcore guild we had in t6 and only Simyn to lead.

Now don't get me wrong, I liked Simyn. He wasn't a bad fellow at all. But when it came to leading he just didn't have the natural drive or ability to recover us from our first "downward spiral".

Things went on, we were gained tanks back, we started killing stuff, months behind Disso.

We had occasional "downward spirals" along the way, but kept going as the number 2 guild on Nektulos.

Fast forward to January. I had thought about apping to disso since our first major "spiral" back in March, but I decided to stick it out and be loyal. But the thoughts of greener pastures haunted me, and weighed me down. I decided to pull the trigger finally, decide if it was the right move. Although the people of TDS were too good of people, too funny, too pure. It didn't feel right. So I was "emo" and left disso 30 minutes after my app and came back.

Fast forward to mid-May. Feebs, the glue, the proverbial spine of the guild left. Things began to crash down at this point.

Come late June, Simyn and Saddie left, thus opening the top of the jar that is The Downward Spiral. All the pent up steam and neglected mishaps begin to leak out. People begin quitting left and right, and the guild finally ends July 8th, 2007. The repercussions of all the pent up issues and mistakes in the past finally came back to 'do the guild in', thus ending the spiral.

It was a hell of a ride, and I enjoyed it all. I'm going to miss you all...

All you have written is useless shit. I don't need to aid anyone, it just wasn't his fucking fault. He didn't stunt us 3 months back in t7, he didn't make our hardcore roster leave in t7, he didnt do any of the shit that did us in.

I don't need to suck his dick, I hardly know him. I've been in the guild far longer than he has been, I don't need to look up to him. I'm simply setting the fucking story straight.

Mamisa, you just need to stop. It wasn't a "joke" about guilds falling apart around Furriest, the OP is clearly laying the blame of all 3 guilds on Furriest, and it is frankly bullshit. I don't know about the other two guilds. but TDS's demise had about as much to do with Furriest as it has to do with me. Its been a long time coming, and we suffered hurt after hurt after hurt over the last 3 months. I was only a member during that time, but I have known and been a sideline viewer for the last year, and I know what Llew says is 100% true.

Quit trying to make this into a joke. Ticktock who was using Dinh's account was and still is upset about Furriest making officer and is blaming him for the breakdown. It was not Furriest's fault, and lord knows I don't need to kiss his ass. He could barely stand me.
