OK: Furriest DID NOT kill the guild. Simyn quitting DID NOT kill the guild. The guild was dead for over a year and was slowly dying.

Gather around for the story of the proverbial downward spiral of The Downward Spiral.

It all begins back in February of last year, around when KoS was releasing. TDS is coming off of a strong t6 dominance, and is stuck between a choice of leaving to Mistmoore or going head on at Dissolution. People spoke, and they were confident the guild could manage Disso. The day KoS was opened to the masses, Tunabash was no where to be found. No post, no heads up, but Tuna wasn't on. He never came back. So there we were stuck without our main tank and hardcore members quitting left and right. Reznor had left about a month after Tuna, and we were left with a shell of the hardcore guild we had in t6 and only Simyn to lead.

Now don't get me wrong, I liked Simyn. He wasn't a bad fellow at all. But when it came to leading he just didn't have the natural drive or ability to recover us from our first "downward spiral".

Things went on, we were gained tanks back, we started killing stuff, months behind Disso.

We had occasional "downward spirals" along the way, but kept going as the number 2 guild on Nektulos.

Fast forward to January. I had thought about apping to disso since our first major "spiral" back in March, but I decided to stick it out and be loyal. But the thoughts of greener pastures haunted me, and weighed me down. I decided to pull the trigger finally, decide if it was the right move. Although the people of TDS were too good of people, too funny, too pure. It didn't feel right. So I was "emo" and left disso 30 minutes after my app and came back.

Fast forward to mid-May. Feebs, the glue, the proverbial spine of the guild left. Things began to crash down at this point.

Come late June, Simyn and Saddie left, thus opening the top of the jar that is The Downward Spiral. All the pent up steam and neglected mishaps begin to leak out. People begin quitting left and right, and the guild finally ends July 8th, 2007. The repercussions of all the pent up issues and mistakes in the past finally came back to 'do the guild in', thus ending the spiral.

It was a hell of a ride, and I enjoyed it all. I'm going to miss you all...

This is a great summary of events and it's funny you remembered all of that Llewrend. But, its exactly what happened. Brings me back to when I was in TDS. Anyway, any of you guys are welcome in my guild.

In general, I think the game is dying a slow death due to the first indication of when Vagabonds, FOH, and other really good guilds turned it in. Now most peeps who login are migrating to the last remaining hardcore guilds in the game. I guess the release of ROK will determine if we will all be merged onto one server. lol

Thank you Llewrend, for that nice story about TDS. One of these days I'll write some memoirs. And yes, can't argue with a woman, cause it's either their way or no way. Of course, if you kill them, you win the argument.

To any of the old TDS members reading, I hope you have good luck in your next endeavor.
