I find it funny that people can fly Celtic flags, PoW flags, Vet Flags, State Flags, yet when someone takes pride in being southern and flying a Confederate flag, they're labeled racist.

No. The Swastika was bastardized by Hilter to begin with. The symbol itself has nothing to do with genocide.

Kind of my point. The rebel flag has nothing todo with racism or hating black people... sure slavery was around. But it by no means was a defining factor of the hatred that went down. Its a symbol of a group of people... a heritage, no differant than the american flag - or my Hebrew flag - or my Swastika flag.

Is the swastika crooked or straight? I don't think I have ever seen a crooked swastika that wasn't Nazi. The straight swastika is much older than Hitler and the Nazis though.

Its what the Confederacy represented i guess ... Either way why fly the confederate flag? What do you mean its your heritage? Its such a blanket statement, i mean i could fly the Swastika on my house cause i'm part German and could say that I have it for my pride in my heritage and that it has nothing to do with antisemitism. While I might be correct and honest in my thoughts, I guarentee almost every single Jewish person would find it incomprehensibile and disgusting.

I don't get why people don't seem to grasp that it bothers people. I mean i'm an insensitive bastard, so like things dont bother me, but I wouldn't go that route. Then again i was the guy egging Neske on to say "Wer Mussen De Juden Asrotten" when the Jewish conversation occured in 60-69 chat.

And yes I did compare flying the confederate flag to flying a swastika or a german flag pre 1945. If ya dun care about pissin people off, thats cool, just don't be surprised if they take it personal.

BTW I like the sig actually, its well done and even if it had a picture of a black guy hanging from a tree i wouldnt mind as long as it was done tastefully. Wait, what?

The civil war and confederate flag were not about slavery as much as your history teacher in high school may have wanted you to believe that was the case. It was about having a confederacy versus the government we have now, so I don't know why slavery is always brought up. The south did have a higher slave population than the north because of the economy, but it isn't what the war was about.
