The Nazi's werent all about world domination, read Mein Kampf...i mean sure ... dont get me wrong Hitler was all about killin him some minorities, and making Lamp Shades but really, was he all that bad? I mean er um...there were economic factors and other things about Germany post WWI that led into the National Socialist thing.

I mean you can make the same arguement that the Nazi's werent all about Killing Jews and others, that you can make with the Confederacy and it not being about slavery. If you look at things iscolated and only one little thing and not how other things effected it, then of course you can say that. The illuminati guy said that basically, and its true. I mean if you say it was just about States Rights, then yes thats true ... but what WERE those rights? I would be willin to lay some cash (not much cause i'm a broke ass brotha) that there was at least one law that was in contention that had to do with Slavery or Taxes on income (cause well you have more income if you dont have to pay for labor because of slaves, so you should pay more taxes!).

I never said that Slavery didnt play a hand in it but Illumin and many other yankke fucks enjoy thinking that the war was fought primarily over the issue of slavery. It wasnt slavery had a very small part of it.

LOL i wasnt hating on the south, I just wanted (and still am curious) to know what you are proud of about the flag and what it represents. Although the south sucks, the south lost, and it wont rise again. Damn southerners. Oh yeah everyone from the south should die................cept my wife.......(Cause she might read this board, she plays EQ2 also...but if shes not reading it, then ill say her to...just kidding hunny).

Kfizzle, I don't know why you feel the need to bring up Hitler and Nazis in all your posts but your point is worn out and not applicable. If you read some more history you will see why the south wanted more state right, Itoock touched on it a little in his last post. I personally don't feel like going into a history of it, if you want to really know about it go do some research yourself rather than relying on what your learned in high school. Oh, by the way, Columbus didn't discover the Americas either.

But it had a part, and yourself and others diminish its role in things, because while it might not have been the deciding factor IE: "we have to go to war, we need to free those slaves", the reasons for the war had factors driven and rooted in slavery and its effects on the economy and political situation of things.

Slavery was a big issue but it was not the reason the Civil War happened. The causes of the Civil War are much like the causes of our own Revolutionary War. We revolted because we didn't like people across an ocean telling us what to do. Much like people in the South hated a bunch of politicians in the North telling them what to do. The two cultures were way different and therefore led to conflict.

And like you said Illuminator, Lincoln's main concern was keeping the union together. If the war was all about slavery, it seems like it'd been pretty easy to save the union.

Slavery may have had some role, I don not doubt it, but, it was by no means a deciding factor in anything in my opinion. I firmly believe that the Civil War would have happened w/o slavery. The south did not want the north telling them what to do.
