WTF Mr. Site admin!!!!! - Page 5

IE users make up the majority of browsers, and unfortunately most of them are not tech savvy nor do they know about such threats to their PC from the Internet. As the malicious coders say "easy pickins".

I have never had a Virus and have never had a Spyware/Adware/Trojan/Hijacker that ever caused serious harm. Using safer / upgraded browsers, knowing how to take care of your system and using a bit of common sense when surfing the web or reading email is well worth the investment of time.

Sadly Joe Schmoe down the street doesn't know any of this, will get a massive virus infection because he's running IE5 with ActiveX enabled, visiting shady websites and clicking links in bogus spam emails that look real and I'll be the one that has to clean it up. Then again I could just say the computer is old or broken and get commission to build him a new one and take the old one for spare parts

Our ads are back up.

Our advertising agency has extensively gone through the ads being delivered to this site based on our feedback, and believes they caught the one that was causing us problems.

Firefox users should not experience any type of problem, and did not before.

IE users, IF YOUR VIRUS/ADWARE ALARM GOES OFF, OR IF YOU ARE PROMPTED TO DOWNLOAD ANY ACTIVE X CONTROLS - BEFORE YOU FLIP OUT AND CALL ME A SHITTY ADMIN, OR SAY YOU ARE NEVER EVER GONNA USE THIS SITE AGAIN, KINDLY RIGHT CLICK ON ALL ADS PRESENTLY UP WHEN THAT HAPPENS, AND COPY THE PROPERTY URL THAT APPEARS IN EACH OF THE ADS AND PASTE THAT INFORMATION IN A REPLY TO THIS THREAD. Please screenshot the window with the active x download/error message you get and post that also.

WE CAN ONLY FIX PROBLEMS IF YOU REPORT THEM AS REQUESTED ABOVE.

Since this might be an issue others might want to know about, it might be worth posting this on the general page so people actually see it instead of burried on the 5th page in the "WTF Mr. Site admin!!!!!" thread in the Rate-a-Retard section. People might actually see it there.

You're putting it the info out there like it is a fucking PSA and then get all pissy if people don't see information that is buried on page 5 of a non-related thread or don't see your pretty post in a section at the bottom that many probably haven't been to. There's like a reason and shit people don't see the information.

Most admins normally sticky important shit that they want all users to see in the general area so it is widely available and they get less work It's smrt and shit.

I hear you man, but if I stickied everything like you suggest, the first two pages of the General Discussion section would be all stickies. It just ain't feasible.
