Stupid is:

people who do nothing but bitch about the game - the game, the Dev's, the GM's, the players, the solo'rs, the raiders, the crafters, the undercutters, the gougers, the farmers, the cherry-pickers, the gankers, the loot, the encounters, the mechanics, the bugs, the downtime to fix the bugs, the color of their shoes, the art on the load screens, the freeking color of the freeking sky - and then they keep playing. They have nothing positive, or even neutral, to say about anything at all, ever.

You can't love playing if you think it sucks that bad. If the whole thing is that bad of an experience, you must be phenomenally stupid to keep paying money every month so SoE can make you miserable. You can get that kind of masochism free. What do you want, a medal for endurance whining?

Just quit already and put us all out of your misery.

They bitch because they care. If they didn't care they wouldn't bitch. Once the bitching stops the game is in trouble because there's nobody left that cares enough to present their opinion (even if it's in the form relatively unconstructive bitching).

You better pray the bitching goes on a loooong time or it's game over for all of us.

Damn, I was going to guess something else.

I totally agree tho Calth. I try not to ONLY complain, because there is so much about the game that I enjoy. There are obviously broken things, but that doesn't stop me from playing because thankfully most of those broken things have to do with loot, and to me that isn't why I play this game (tho its a nice little reward for my work)

There's a huge difference between care-inspired anger and the constant bitching by quite a lot of the players. I've been playing since January, and I've seen the same people since the start bitching, saying it's a terrible game, and heralding the death of SOE. I have my grievances, and I voice them, but there's a limit.

I don't know enough about each posters motives to be able to determine if it's care inspired or whatever else you are referring to.

Is this not a case of one persons care inspired rant is another's worthless SoE bash? Certainly there have been a number of people banned from the boards that care deeply about the raid game but maybe didn't present themselves in the best way. To some readers of those forums, those people would be nothing but doom talking, SoE hating whiners.

I think what Cal means, Pro, is the people who are hardcore bitchers and whiners. Nothing is EVER right, even when it's changed and it's not constructive bitching either, it's bitching to have someone to gripe at. I understand what you mean and you're right, people need to bitch. It lets the devs know there's something wrong and it brings it to the light of the community so others can see the fault. When all you do, however, is gripe about how SOE sucks and the Dev's suck and the game is unfixable and it was screwed up from the point YOU (not you, general you) liked it at, then people are bitching just to hear themselves talk.

Some poeple actually bitch to bitch. I swear, I know this one gamer who gets all excited about just about any game in development. He posts on the forums, anxiously awaits beta, then once he actually plays the game, he bitches non stop about what a let down it is, whines..bitches..complains..then eventually quits to wait for the next "great" MMO.

Omg..if no MMO out there meets ones expectations, go play platform and stfu.

I do understand the points some of the posters are making but I personally believe that the the number of people who truly hate the game that much that they are merely bitching as a form of 'playing the boards' (see Chis Cao's post on SWG boards and related commentary) is very, very low.

Now, I'm in no way arguing that all whining posts (or even many) have a pearl of wisdom tucked within them somwehere. Many I have read don't. Many times I'll start to read a post within a few word or lines thing 'window licker' and move on.
