Default Lacutis - The Little Paly that Couldn't

I know Guk has had a few weak RaR's lately so I hesitated doing this for that as well as a few following reasons.

    Bear with me.

    Background

About a year ago, Lacutis and his girlfriend Digambara joined the guild that I am Raid Leader of: Outlaws.
We're not a hardcore raid guild, raid 3 days x 3 hours, etc. When Lacutis joined, he was our third-slotted tank.
Our Main Tank and Guild Leader Meilay and our Off Tank and MT fill in Ripjaww were slotted ahead of him.

Eventually, Ripjaww stopped showing due to some personal life issues and we recruited a new Off Tank to fill his role.
During this time, Lacutis and his girlfriend Digambara have been coached a ton to try to help their AA choices, cast orders,
making macros, following scripts, adjusting setups for raid need, etc. For example: Digambara is a fairly weak low-parsing
(casts bloodcoil every 4 seconds, overrides the Conj's ET, has trouble controlling her pet) Necro and third mage in the
mage group (so no UT/TC) so I encouraged her to spec more for utility if her parses weren't going to improve. Lacutis
couldn't really understand how to set up his AA build so I would work with him on things like that as well as which abilities
are the best to use to pull mobs, etc. However, both were loyal guild members with great attendance. I believe in all they both
only missed a couple of times over an entire year.

    Early Problems

From the onset, Lacutis was quite upset at not getting a chance to move up. However, while Outlaws is not a hardcore
raid guild, we do have some base standards for quality. Several months ago, as we were making a push to clear
Kraytocs HM before Skyshrine hit, we noticed that on the Eireen fight, Lacutis pretty much couldn't do anything
worthwhile at all. He was unable to get targets of the blobs, aggro the blobs, pull the blobs off the MT, or really do
anything that one would expect a tank worth his salt to do. While we were still learning the fight (tank swaps, etc)
it was becoming very clear that Lacutis was simply unable to function. Multiple officer meetings and "coaching sessions"
were attempted as a first resort to help Lacutis fix the issues that were causing his failures. Numerous things stood out.

Firstly, he still didn't know how to do his AA set up. Consistently his AA set up was speckled with practically 1 of everything.
Although my alt Paly is just a fun little tinker tool and break, he essentially admitted to me he didn't know what he needed
to do to fix the issues. I'll shorten this part to say simply... his AA setups left him with no reuse and so his longer-range
abilities were on timers that were too long to be ready when the 2nd and 3rd and so-on waves of adds popped. In addition,
he didn't have any sort of indication on when his auto-attack would go off (this was still the case at the point he de-guilded).
In addition, he was reforging for accuracy, and had been reforging OFF ability reuse to increase... SPELL reuse. Despite this,
I invested several multi-hour sessions with him (my officers will back me up) trying to coach him up over replacing him.

However, he couldn't handle it. Eventually our solution was to have the scouts pull the adds and have him pull them once they get
next to him to compensate for his inability to pull them himself. All this while, in Officer meetings, he was consistently the
target of the ire of the Officers. His overall guffaw tendencies and the fact that he talked too much in vent were not a big deal when
compared to the problems he had as a player. He was holding us back.

At this point, we started benching him whenever a third tank wasn't needed and would bring an extra-whatever-was-out-there to
improve raid dps, utility, etc. Lacutis didn't take kindly to this and expressed very confidently that he was just as good as any of
our other tanks, and should not only keep his raid spot, but get a chance to main tank as well. Clearly, we weren't on the same page.
However, we would continue to pull him in for loot when plate-tank items dropped, even if we were benching him much more regularly.

During this time, I tolerated numerous angry tells before, during, and after raids from both himself and his girlfriend Digambara.
Both of them made it very clear during all of these conversations that they thought he was as good as any of our other tanks, but
consistently appealed to his 1-year tenure with the guild as the reason he should keep his regular raiding spot. Essentially, to him,
Outlaws was a union. He had been here long enough that his spot should be protected despite any performance issues that were
continuously being brought up to him. In addition, he and his girlfriend often threatened to have his girlfriend (a low parsing necro)
sit if he was benched as well.

When Lacutis did get a spot due to a short turnout night or one of our two regulars being awol/having net issues, his play continued to underwhelm.

In Dracur Prime x4, Lacutis simply could not handle pulling aggro or staying up when adds came on the named fight. Sure enough,
I looked into it and he was burning things like Stonewall and Divine Aura before the adds were even on him, and had nothing up
when they eventually spawned. Even when he would occasionally get them, he'd flop like a Massachusetts politician. (yay bipartisan jab at both Romney and Kerry here)
Instead, we'd have him switch to just DPS and were able to get by on the fights with alt-tanks handling the job that he couldn't.
Essentially, his play had reached a level of crap where if we did bring him, he was in as dps. Yeah, Paly dps.

    Things Heat Up

Around this time, a mass text from myself to the officers winds up copying Lacutis in on the fact that we were quite concerned about his
repeated suckage and complaining. Because Lacutis' girlfriend was not likely going to take a perma-benching-unless-we-need-an-extra-body lightly,
we discussed the reality that if we benched him we would likely have to replace both him and his girlfriend. This was quite an embarrassing
mistake on my end due to some setting I had checked on a texting app I had installed to make mass-texting easier (for guild events, etc).
Of course, both Lacutis and Digambara get pretty torqued about this. Three officers (myself included) talked to them about our concerns about
their continuous rants whenever benched and also noted our concerns about their performance. We set their expectations that they might not
be able to raid every night as we were putting builds together in the best interest of the raid, and if turnout was good, this would not include them.
We also offered at this time the opportunity to lead a Secondary Raid Team compromised of non-raiders in our guild along with alts of raiders.
Of course, they reasserted their belief that their tenure had warranted them a regular spot on our raid team. At this point, Digambara started crying
in vent telling us how important it is for her that Lacutis be able to raid because his life has been hard and it is hard for her to watch him feel
let down night after night when he is benched. We explain that we appreciate the fact that they want to raid and have been loyal guildmates
but reinforce that we make calls based on the best build for the night and that it was not personal.

    The Break Up

Only about a week or two after this, the officers agreed that we could not bear their bad playing any longer. For several months, to give time to
try to help them improve, I had vetoed (much to the disdain of the other officers, especially Meilay and Shadowpriest). I continued to push for
more and more time to try to coach up over replacing. I contented that Outlaws was not a hardcore guild but a strong performing family-style guild.
However, the continued bad play and complaints eventually put me over the line and I agreed that the best direction was to not have either of the two
raiding with us regularly if turnout was good enough. The same group of three officers (myself included) informed Digambara that overall our decision was that
we were going to go completely in the direction of having them mostly benched due to the needs of the guild and issues with their skill. Digambara
was immediately choked up but Lacutis was silent. We again offered them a spot as leaders of our second raid team and emphasized that we appreciated their
tenure with the guild. At this point, both started raging in guild chat about how I was an awful miserable person and rage-guild-quit. Any alts that weren't
booted continued to log in the rest of the night posting angry rants in guild chat about myself and how much they hated me. At this point, I sent a guild-wide
email saying that we as officers were disappointed in how they handled the news, but that we had not asked them to leave the guild and wished them well.

    Things Get Ugly

Lac and Diga decided that their rants that night were not enough. They started spamming guild members about how they hated me. I got texts, in game mail,
facebook posts, and messages. I have included a few in the next post as examples. Essentially the strategy is to find ways to communicate with me that I have
not yet shut down and spew the same old butthurt rant about how awful of a person they think I am and how they will get our guild to collapse in retaliation.
To date, a dozen guildies and several officers have been the recipients of his butthurt nonsense. He rants on about how he is as good of a tank as
Meilay (guk server feel free to chime in here) and how I mistreated him. His bitterness over these events knows no end. At this point I am at my wits end about
the endless harassment. I am taking the needed channels to make sure he loses the ability to contact me personally, but his vitriol in game needed to be addressed.

He formed a guild called Light of Qeynos that has a few inactive accounts as well as a few recruited toons that had long before lost raid spots due to admittedly
much more extreme examples of poor play. Members of this guild occasionally spread their butthurt angst over not being good enough players to raid in a
    non-hard-core guild.

At the end of the day, I don't know much else to say. I actually took even the news of their benching very hard. I had invested a lot of time into both players
both in and out of game trying to help them deal things game and non-game related. Several times when one or both of them were having a hard time, I would
pass on a piece of loot I had won to try to help cheer them up. Telling them they were losing a raid spot was the hardest thing I had done as a raid leader. It was
at the encouragement of some of my friends that I finally go forward with this.

    List of Grievences

    To summarize:

    Lacutis:
Struggles to play class // Does not understand AA builds.
Cannot figure out how to set up an auto-attack bar or time auto-attacks.
Has been coached by officers for 10+ hours in attempts to coach-up instead of replace.
Has admitted to using drugs before and during raid, causing a "if you're too influenced by chemicals" rule.
Has hit on young girls in our guild with excellent pickup lines like "if I wasn't in a wheel-chair..."
Has a belief that Moloko Velocet wants him in their guild, and that he is every bit as good at tanking as Meilay
Does not stop contacting me, guildies, and guild officers with rage tells, messages, posts, etc.

    Digambara:
Struggles to play class // Does not understand AA builds.
Cannot control pet and has wiped raids numerous times as a result.
Has been coached by myself, Nidaarla of NPU, and a few others for 3+ hours myself and even more frmo others to try to coach up.
Also uses drugs during raid. See above.
Also the same bull about contacting myself, friends, guildies, etc.
Is sadly actually a better player than Lacutis despite the fact that she hasn't played her toon nearly as long.
Is actually probably not a bad person but seems like she is trying to fight his battles.

Celly: (butthurt dirge who deguilded a few weeks before due to losing raid spot)
Struggles to spell own name, use keyboard, use mouse, upgrade abilities, know what game she is playing in, what decade she is in, what zone she is in.
Cannot load zones, follow scripts, read tells, learn how to reforge, make macros, read red texts, joust, cannot stop asking me if she can get a raid spot.
In fact, there was a recent meeting in which officers discussed if we should penalize bad players by making them add some sort
of form of "Celly" to their name. Fortunately our raid team is pretty solid now and have no one we need to use this on.

Maybe Biglock will come back and we can call him Cellock.

All your guildies are belong to me. Just none of them have left you yet. Two weeks later.

Oh the things my crutches would do to you.

Because being benched in a non-hardcore raid guild hurts really bad.

Oh yeah. Celly also said that I benched her because she was a girl. For Xolotl. Who is also a girl.

Yes, for those that are skeptics, how Mogrim put it, is how it went down. I, sadly, do not have the tells saved (as at the time I didn't desire to make "his" mess public, let alone in the Rate a Retard forum) but after repeated offenses against my officers, tells to me, forced my hand to at least chime in here. What Mogrim stated about his lacking ability, is true- no exaggeration, I mean Lacutis was a hell of a tank in EM, where you didn't have to contend with multi tasking or that simply the raids DPS allowed for scripts to either be ignored or that they simply never occurred. Lacutis came to Outlaws and we as a guild tried to make him into a fine player, we dragged him through content he shouldn't have been invited too for many months, and even into the newest expansion (Skyshrine) we continued to bring him, well.... Mogrim continued to bring him MUCH to the dismay of many of the raiding members and all of the officer core. Everyone knew he would not, or could not handle the challenges with SS progression and/or Drunder HM progression, so the best choice for our guild's MAIN raid team was to replace him, and he was replaced by an Outlaws monk that not only tanks better than he ever did, shames his parse, and adds useful raid buffs through AA and class that Lacutis was not. The laughable part, was the parting words, instead of being a "stand-up" kinda guy, he choose to go down the road of "I'll destroy you all" and reactivated his old guild (Kudos, I appreciate people forming their own guilds, or keeping older ones alive) but then told us he would recruit all of our raiders and make us fail or something to that effect. We lost our level 50 something Beastlord and a few members that never even got their guild cloak dirty in a group, and that was about it. I as a guild leader, was willing to even let those Shinenighans slide, but again, after his continued douchebaggery in open forums, messages to the raid leader I appointed, he is WELL deserving of a special place here in RATE A RETARD. ***Of special note should be when he was benched, he was EVCEN offered to come grab FREE loots from the raiders that were capable as he was still the only plate tank we had that could use them, and instead of the raiders selling or alting them, he would zone in and grab them. HELL of a deal, I wish Mogrim would bench my ass and let me loot raid items while I got to goof off and grind quests or level alts...... MEILAY

I don't understand how they can say you are greedy and selfish. You are always giving up gear you win to someone who needs it more or plays an alt more. The thing I find most funny is that in his leaving rant, in guild chat no less, Lac accused Mogrim of having no loyalty and yet in his angry storming off wasn't it really Lac that had no loyalty? He was the one who was raging because he was replaced for the betterment of the whole. If he had any loyalty he would understand why he was being replaced and would at least leave with some dignity if he no longer wanted to stay in the guild.

Also, Celly saying she was being replaced because she was female was funny. I'm female too, at least the last time I checked.
    *looks down*
    Yep, still female.

First of all, thank you Xolotl for involving tits on this post as requested by other posters. WIN!

Secondly, I can affirm Mogrim working endlessly with Diga and Lac on the betterment of their toons. Personally, I have nothing horrible to say about them outside the realm of the game, except for that creepy comment Lacutis told one of our guildees one day about "If I was 50 years younger, and not in a wheelchair, I'd be all over you" or something.

They were loyal and devoted (model almost) guildees. It's always sad to lose a guildee and it's even sadder (is sadder a word? sader... sad more... sa.. w/e, u get it) when guildies rage quit over something stupid. I co-run Outlaws guild along with Meilay, so it was up to me to break the news to them that they would no longer be raiding on a consistent basis with our Main Raid Team (MRT) but were more than welcome to raid with our Second Raid Team (SRT) while still having the capability to join the MRT on the off chance that we need them. All the while, Lacutis would still be brought in to loot any plate tank gear that dropped (This is actually how he got is SS x4 raid gear, Boots, Pants, Helm, Gloves, Bracers, Tower Shield etc etc). I don't know about you, but if someone told me, "Hey man, we don't need your toon in the raid atm because we have to many healers as is, BUT since we don't have any Plate Healer's in the raid (unrealistic I know, but I'm shooting for comparability here) any time plate healer stuff drops, we will pull you in and give it to you for FREE!!! In the mean time, you can play the game and do whatever you want while were raiding" I'd jump all over that opportunity!! **note to self, Kill Encori and Eravis and try to be the only non-needed plate healer in the raid so I can score free loots whilst doing w/e the fuck I want**

So anyways, my only chime in is that I vote this RaR two thumbs up solely on the fact that we extended the courtesy (Mogrim more actually, than the rest of us) of keeping them in raid vice replacing them due to their "lack" of performance because the had GREAT attendance, and had been with us for a long time. Eventually though, even that reasoning comes to a crashing halt based on performance. And once I notified them that they would no longer be raiding with us, they immediately raged in guild and public channels, stating that Mogrim and Meilay were backstabbers and had no idea what "loyalty" means. They sent several guild members tells to try and get them to leave and join them in their own guild. They swore that Light of Qeynos would surpass Outlaws in no time at all because soon as the rest of our raiders found out how the officers in Outlaws were the DEVIL and had no sense of loyalty, they will haz all our raiders. They warned our raiders to watch their backs because they could be NEXT! Well, all of our raiders can actually play their class, so... no need to replace them.

Mogrim was actually the only reason you stayed in the MRT as long as you did LACUTIS! And you RAGED him LOLOLOLOLOL! RaRxcellent!!!
