Well, I'm not sure this character was "leveled". Check out his time played:
Just over 4 days played on a 70 SK. I'll admit that is inconsistent with the leveling history shown for this toon on Eq2players. but there is just a ton about Astaroth that doesn't make sense.
I've been checking out Astaroth since Emanji posted that he was a dev guilded in NPU on the Disso boards several months back. After I took the above screenshot of his alt window and posted that on the Disso boards, and asked why he had an alt named Scotthartsman, which is the name of the Senior Producer for Eq2, this person disabled access to his alts window so nobody could view it.
Next, why has Astaroth not died since September 15th? Show me any other member of NPU that hasn't died in the past several days, or within the past week:
Astaroth joined NPU just a few days before the release of KoS, after they beta'd KoS and became acquainted with several of the devs. This toon is in a unique membership category within NPU that isn't shared by any other member. He clearly is only played part time, and not often. He isn't an alt, because NPU has an alt guild. And why for the love of God would NPU have TWO SKs? This just makes no sense.
His 4 days played do not have a simple explanation, such as a server transfer. My level 70 alt SK Ixnay was transferred from Blackburrow to Nektulos after the beginning of KoS, and my alt's profile shows over 200 days played. So there are several things definitely not right here.
But let me get something straight. I have zero problem with NPU or anyone in NPU at this time. I do not feel hostile anyone in NPU in any way. I am friendly with, and genuinely like, several NPU members. So I have no axe to grind here.
What I am saying is this: Astaroth has every appearance of being a dev that is receiving special treatment from NPU. Based on previous statements Emanji has made, combined with the above evidence, I believe Astaroth is a dev.
But I also don't think there is anything wrong with a dev being in NPU. I think it's great that devs want to actually play EQ2. I think that Astaroth will probably get a better understanding of the high end game in NPU than Locke did in Drow, or whatever guild he was in when he posted that ridiculous ranger parse on the SoE forums.
My point to all this really is, so what? Why bother lying about this or trying to hide it?
