Dude I love this site but you're being fucking crazy right now. We dominated EQ2 because there was no one else. It was the official forums or us. FoH didn't give a fuck about EQ2 by that time outside a handful of players who mostly lurked here for their infos. Fansites were few and far between and the total suck. So you either had nazi land or us - there wasn't a lot of options.

Again, as I said, not only were we basically the only game in town this site was filled with posters who had intimate knowledge of each other and had a serious build up of hatred for one another and it exploded all over this site and then it just grew from there.

If you would've tried to launch a WoW flames site you'd have been lost in a see of sites doing the same shit, better. EJ, FoH - that is just to name two.

Rift is going to be stupidly popular like WoW I imagine because it requires no brain cells to play and is basically the same game. The real FoH guild is raiding in that game so there will be tons of in depth posts on that site about the game. That was also one of the first "flame" boards to ever exist and while they have rules they're pretty close to ours here and AGAIN FoH is taken a lot more seriously than we are by players and developers alike.

I mean c'mon people wait YEARS to be approved to post there and/or PAY HIM MONEY FOR THE ABILITY. That is saying something in an internet full of messageboards about videogames.

How so? EQ2 is stupid easy to play but it isn't the same game as WoW. EQ2 is broken and retarded as hell, I don't think otherwise.

Which is why I mentioned FoH. EJ = useful info FoH = everything else. Which is part of the point, WoW has a fuckton of choices as far as sites go and EQ2 doesn't.

I think RiftFlames will be a success only if the game Rift is a success. There will always be fighting in the MMO world when it comes to guilds. Thats why people will migrate to Riftflames, to have free speech and fight untill the topic just dies and even then beat that dead horse some more. You can basicly do anything you want and not worry what you say in fear a mod will lock your thread. Thats why people came to EQ2Flames.

I haven't gave Gaige much notice untill these Rift sub forums. I highly doubt the success of EQ2Flames revolves around Gaige. If the game is a huge hit, RiftFlames will be a huge hit. You dont need Gaige to make that site happen.

I agree, and never launched a WOW site because I never played that game and this is a part time hobby of mine rather than a full time job.

I believe we already have a core group of users from eq2flames who will be respected within Rift and will use this site. That's all we need to get started.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying we will have dramatic immediate success. We will have slow, steady growth, and from time to time pick up chunks of new users based on presently unforeseen drama of worldwide interest that will begin and unfold here.

The circumstances are different between Rift and EQ2, but the long term eventual result will be the same, and this new site will eventually surpass eq2flames.
