For soloing, I'd assume you'd put most points in Bladedancer to take advantage of the reaction abilities they get from dodging attacks.

In PvP, you'd probably go either Assassin or Nightblade for the stealth.

For general DPS'ing... you should probably go Ranged.

for short fights like instances and soloing, the assassin is actually quite good with the % increase to and from openers. The healpoison with a healproc item is enough for you to chainpull any yellow con mobs as well.

i wish there would have been a lvl 40 dummy.

I was messing around with this:

Soul Tree Calculator: Bladedancer (18) / Assassin (10) / Saboteur (7) :: Rift: Planes of Telara :: ZAM
(final spec was going to be: Soul Tree Calculator: Bladedancer (31) / Saboteur (18) / Assassin (17) :: Rift: Planes of Telara :: ZAM)

Which may end up being extremely retarded. As is, I was doing decent damage in groups though and was able to solo harder mobs pretty well.

Started off with a stun, set my charges, hit Blade Tempo, started off with Daunletless Strike (crit buff), then worked my combo points back up to detonate, that usually was enough to kill anything.
Slightly retarded some of the time. Completely the rest.

sorry, did i phrase wrong? i meant it can kill all normal mobs up to 2 levels above you in under 10 seconds, then the next, then the next...without ever needing to stop because of HP.

    ASSASSIN
    * Fixed a bug where the internal cooldown was not working for weapon poisons.
    * Serrated Blades: Causes the target to bleed for 33-100% of your weapon’s damage over 6 seconds, down from 60-180%. Now only triggers from melee weapon critical attacks. It no longer triggers from ranged weapon critical attacks or attacks that require ‘Any Weapon’ and are not considered melee weapon attacks [Bard damage abilities, Saboteur Charges, Bombs, etc.]. Nightblade ranged attacks are considered melee weapon attacks and can trigger Serrated Blades.
    * Slip Away: Fixed so that existing DoT effects will cause stealth to break after Slip Away immunity ends.
    * Serpent Strike: Damage increased.
    * Advanced Flanking: Changed to increase the critical hit chance of Backstab by 3-6%. Increases the critical hit chance of Assassinate, Jagged Strike, and Paralyzing Strike by 25-50%.
    * Magnify Pain: Fixed a tooltip error.

    BLADEDANCER
    * Vivacity: Now also increases damage of all Bladedancer abilities by 5-10%.

Looks like maining Bladedancer with Assassin/Nightblade may be the way to go.

Correct me if I am wrong guys. You start with 3 souls...throughout lvl'ing and doing the various quests you can unlock up to 8 souls....These can be duel spec'd and switched in and out......

Assuming what i understand to be correct...

If one tree gets nerfed....then just switch to the other....rinse and repeat. Kinda stupid but /shrug.

    So anyway...I'll be going Assy/blade dancer/riftstalker...
That way if i'm sitting there waiting for a tank I can just switch to rift and tank the dungeon myself.

    Maybe you're not understanding.....

You can go Assassin/BladeDancer/Nightblade then if you have to tank you can switch your "Role" and go Riftstalker/Bard/Bladedancer and then is 1/2 through the instance you find a tank but need ranged DPS you can then switch roles again and go Marksman/Nighblade/Assassin.... but then you loose a healer on the last boss you can switch again to Bard/Nightblade/whatever the fuck else you wanna add to it

    make sense?
