51 Bard for support, 15 NB seems to be the logical choice.

Not much to add to that.

Other souls are kind of wasted since the bard wants to use his raidheal as a finisher and as the leech as a buildup skill, there is not much synergy except enhancing with the usual nightblade talents.

I don't think going 51 in bard is really all that worthwhile, as Verse of Joy doesn't seem to be all that fantastic with a 2 minute cooldown timer. But, I'm not raiding, so maybe I'm not putting as much weight on Verse of Joy as it might merit in that kind of situation.

I've changed my builds a lot since I first posted. Now my bulids are 51 bard - 8 nb and rest in riftstalker and 35 bard - 31 ranger and 0 riftstalker.

I've ran all the T2s and bards just don't cut it. The trash mobs start spiking pretty hard (even with full toughness) making chloro/cleric the best combination. The only time I run 51 bard is fights where turtling is the best option, and the boss will kill your raptor pet. Otherwise, there really isn't a need.

Clerics also love to bitch about mana pots and water costs, but never ask for the mana boost when they need it. I don't think I run this build often enough for them to remember to ask, it's second nature to just hit the mana pot button.

The biggest problem with bard is dps. Even with a raptor pet on fire and forget, I'll still do the same damage as a chloro and heal for less. Even purifiers will outdps me. I only hit 100-150 dps in a full bard build which is just outright bad dps. Single target encounters I'll hit 150-250 hps, ae fights it's up to 500. A chloro can hit 900 easily if the encounter does enough damage, and I've seen one parse 1100 while solo healing.

Clerics love me when I'm in bard spec... you just need to time your coda heal with the spike dmg, and don't be afraid to use Virtuoso, it's only a 2 min CD.

I think bards are really good at keeping the group topped off, that lets the healer focus more on the tank. Chloro/cleric can be pretty good too, but a Chloro has a lot of tank focused healing, so I don't think they mesh nearly as well as bard/cleric does.

IDK, this is just from what I've noticed, but I have no issue duo healing with a cleric in T2's.

You cant really add the numbers like that and say this is what the bard does. Its in no way fair to the class..

First off.. to see how much you heal, you have to substract the extra added heals from other healer(s), since you infact gave them extra healing, extra spellpower and crit etc, and add that healing to you. Might aswell throw in the 5% less dmg taken to your added heal aswell.

Also same story on the dps. U are adding dps for the whole group. So not fair to just say bards do 150 dps.. add a few hundred dps from the group dps.
There are probably some peoples calculating on all the impact u have as a bard on the group.

Verse of Joy is very nice for everyone in the group, not just getting mana back, but the energy for all the rogue war classes.

So many things to add to the table for this class its hard to see the full picture.

Dont forget the anthems aswell.. 13% cheaper abilities/spells makes a quite big impact.
