Default So any useful info here?

Just started up an alt SK to play during downtime on my assassin. I understand the basics naturally from having a 70. Playing with a few SK's on and off I've come across some that are so terrible I wonder if they are playing with their foreheads and the few that know what they are doing seem to shine. So I want to dedicate my time to the class.

Any spec recommendations? I'll be soloing the mainstay of my playtime and so far I'm level 22 and starting down the int line to max out crit to spells and then I was going to work towards reaver and just kind of go from there. I already have 16 AA and will be packing as many AAs as I can early this time since I'll make sure to do all the quests and named and dungeons I missed my first time around which are tons since I only did something like ~200 quests on my assassin ;]

I don't mind spending money to upgrade spells since I've got jack else to spend it on so anything I should at least try and keep ad3?

Gear wise I've been trying to balance w/ pieces of sta/wis/int and sta/str/agi. Should I bother going that route or just stick w/ primary melee stats? I know it's not going to make or break me either way but I'd like to be as efficient as possible =]

This forum does need a make over too. Some stickies with updated spells to shoot for, gear list, specs etc would be hot

You're right on the money with starting out in spell crits and reaver. These will improve DPS, agro, and survivability.

On the KOS tree I like 4-4-8 STR, 4-4-8-1 STA and 4-4-8 Int. It gives you the spell crits on top of some haste and melee crits. On the EoF tree, start with Reaver line, especially the Blessing enhancements. After that, debuff line is good if you are mostly a solo player.

For gear, go for max hp and INT. Higher HP improves Reaver efficiency, and INT will of course make spells hit harder and give a larger power pool. Typically STR gets buffed easy in a group setting and is on most plate gear anyway, so it's not a stat to worry much about.

You already have the right attitude about spell quality. Especially important for a meat shield.

INT/STR/STA gear, +HP gear over +STA gear any day. Our STA:HP ratio sucks compared to Warriors and Brawlers. STR and INT for power and ofc melee/spell damage. Ignore WIS, that's just SoE being stupid with Crusaders.
