The SK General Raiding Thread.

This thread is just to give people a rough idea (people who are making an sk, or people who have questions) about what specs do what, what gear choices are important etc. for the raiding SK.

Because AA setup is quite possibly the most asked about thing in these threads i will start with that.

KoS Tree Common Setups (Pre RoK)
Dps Spec- 448AGI, STA, and INT (AGI can be substituted with STR or WIS depending on preference.)
OT- 74882 STA, 488 INT (can be 84882 STA with 478INT again with preference)
MT- Most sk's that are going to tank alot, usualy use the OT build but may decide to go down STR line for the Hate increaser.

Avengers Strength- Increases STR by 4 for each rank.

Swift Attack- 30sec recast attack with attack speed bonus.

Avenger's Relentlessness- Increases attack speed by 2.2 per rank.

Idolic Axe- Increases Hate Gain 1.3% per rank.

Avenging Invigoration- Increases Casting speed, reuse, and recovery by 10%.

Cavalier's Agility- Increases AGI by 7 per rank.

Joust- quick melee attack, 30sec recast, ports you to target, increased damage from horseback.

Trample- Caster has 5% chance per rank to have their primary weapon's auto attack effect multiple targets within melee range.

Higher Ground- Increases defense 1.7 per rank and a proc for immunity to knockdown effects.

Lance- Powerful damage over time, cannot be riptosed, deals additional damage to target if on horseback.

Sentry's Stamina- Increases STA of caster by 5 per rank.

Hammer Ground- Area Effect knockdown and melee attack.

Fervor of Faith- Increases Melee Crit by a percentage per rank.

Sentry's Bulwark- Increases max health of caster by a percentage per rank.

Divine Aura- A 10 second stoneshield that will absorbe all damage less than 50% of your maximum health, can be used as a single AE aviod.

Knight's Wisdom- Increases WIS of caster by 6 for each rank.

Combat Leadership- Group AE Offensive Proc. Deals slashing damage on ANY sucessful attack.

Battle Leadership- Group AE skill increaser (slashing, crushing, ministration, disruption, subjugation, ordination, and piercing) increases per rank.

Aura of Leadership- Group AE HP regen increaser.

Fearless Morale- Group AE spell, melee, ward, and heal increaser, and Fear Immunity.

Legionnaire's Intellegence- Increases INT of caster by 8 per rank.

Legionnaire's Smite- Powerful spell that deals a 1 time amount of high magical damage.

Legionnaire's Wrath- Increases Spell Crit Chance of caster per rank.

Legionnaire's Mercy- Increases Heal Crit Chance, and mitigation vs magical damage per rank.

Reflect- Self Buff, that Reflects profession spells that are directed at caster.

EoF Endlines (Not going into midline stuff as it is all self explanitory)

Siphon Hate (Endline Hate Tree)- Transfers 3% of group members AE's current hate Threat to the caster

Reaver (Endline Reaving)- On a successful hostile spell this spill will cast Reaver's Mania on caster, healing caster for 2.0% of max health

Pools of Blood (Decay Endline)- Increases Unconscious Health of caster by 2348.

EoF common trees are Siphon Hate and Pools of Blood, Reaver really does not do a whole lot to make it worth choosing over pools line with the debuffs as the heal amount is so miniscule it is not noticed.

Group Setups

There are many different group setups but two that SK's commonly find themselfs in.

Mage Group
Fury/Templar
Troubador
Shadowknight
Warlock
Necromancer
Wizard

With a Mage group setup, the dps for an sk can truely take off as all the buffs from the group help greatly. The mages however can be swapped around for other mage classes, or if you really want a dps boost you can get an Inquisitor and 2 mages rather than 3.

Defiler/Mystic
Dirge
Coercer or Illusionist
Swash

The dirge will help with the melee side of dps as well as other members of the group helping for Hate, Power and of course healing. Again there really isnt any "Set OT group" or anything like that , they are just put there to give an idea of what setups are common.

Note- 2H Weapons should have as high of a delay with a large amount of damage associated with it as possible. With melee crits its likely you will be hitting a crit on an auto attack more than half the time depending on group, so choosing one that hits extremely hard when it does hit is vital.

Another usefull tid-bit from another thread i decided to plop in here

As far as Racials DE is always good, i myself use woodelf, which after the changes to race really isnt so hot anymore, but we do get a good AE and a STA booster (Pic).



For stats i usually look for gear with STR and INT. Usually those pieces will have a decent amount of STA or AGI along with them, but by doing so you are going to utilize your dps more through your gear by selecting those primarily based with STR and INT. Now anymore I am by no means Endgame geared, but my stats are still substansial and i can still put up a decent amount of DPS.

Solo once your stats are around 500 or so, you will be sitting well above the 700 cap for your stats, (Red)



With crits the desirable amount is going to be somewhere around 70% for your spell crit *aa will put you right there*, and melee as high as you can boost it. (Blue)

Now as far as Avoidance and Mitigation go, Most of the shit listed in my thread will give you a pretty good amount of Mit, but with the AV (Something that we lack a considerable amount of compared to other fighters) you are going to want to boost it. Parry adorns work well, etc. (Green)


For AA my setups pretty common, ya fuck you all im not at 140 yet i slack, but whatever. STR line, STA maxed with DA (Some people like it some dont, i prefer it for a stabilization tool) and int for crits.



And for Sk tree i go Reaver and Siphon hate (see below)
