Default Is full tanking gear is actually bad for sk?

Ok first of all this is my current gear setup:

EverQuest II Players

It's a bit strange but lately as more and more that i started to get fully tanking gear i'm having hard time to keep aggro even with bards in team (epecially against warlocks) and i wanted to know why is that.. my gear is almost fully adorned with int and dps etc but still i can be peeled off very easily lately (i'm fully ad3 and got even some masters).
Is it got anything to do with body pulls? i tend to do those alot and then when i got the mob i try to turn it as fast as i can.. should i nuke the mob first before i turn? is it totally my fault or is it trigger happy dps that can't wait 2 sec so i could taunt the mob (also ive noticed that my taunts getting resisted alot lately).

Could use your advice abit guys because frankly i don't want to betray to pally and i love my class.. it would feel like total failure.

I don't organize my gear for "tanking" specifically. I try to maximize DPS as much as I can without losing too much survivability.

... although your eq2players profile looks fairly similar to what I was wearing before I started picking up t8 raid gear, so I'm not quite sure what to tell you.

I use roughly 2 or 3 sets of gear, I have tanking gear or set up which revolves arounf avoidance, when I look at a piece to evaluate it for tanking i use avoid > Hps > mit > dps, obviously so spots will be better filled with dps type stuff, but avoid > all when tanking imo.

Then i have 2 sets of dps gear, one which out fits me like a mage and is used when in a mage group, and almost every thing has some kinda proc on it, the other set revolves around lots of haste and double atk with a 50% or higher melee crit chance and a nice 2 hander, which in fact seems to yeild more dps now, do to the fact this type of gear is easier to come by with RoK.

Now, as far as agro goes, and i could just be reading this wrong, but I would be casting ca's while your in safe range to do so and turning the mob, if you are in fact waiting to cast ca's untill you stop moving and have the mob turned then ya your prolly gunna lose it fast, since we are "hate-over-time" based tanks.

Agression gear can help with taunt resists or so i have heard, but for the most part you should be ok spamming ca's untill you can cast spells.

grp taunt while you turn the mob and part of losing agro is those that can't wait before they let all big nukes out

as for me don't remember having probs in pickup groups .. but when it comes to grouping with our raiding ppl they peel off me easily .. but with coercer+dirge in grp I did fine

Well i got some nice dps gear that got tons of +spell dmg on it but it got so much low hp and 0 agi and stuff like that, that makes me not want to lose hp or avoid.. i got self buffed 10.7k which is pretty high for non raiding sk but dunno in EoF for example i didn't had those hp aa lines i got today and just went for max dps and was alot better.. but problem with RoK mobs is that they hit alot harder.. just screwed me a bit that's all.

Agi is nice and all, but when I talk about avoidence gear I meant gear with +parry, +block, and +defense on it. There are nice adornements out there that can be added to decent dps gear to help cover both areas as well, the +parry for the forearm slot, the +% to parry wrist slots, and 1% sheild block one are all nice additions to any tanking sk. You can actully give up hps for avoidence. Even if you have 20k hps if your getting hit everytime a mob swings at you they'll just burn threw you, but if you can avoid 60% of the incoming atks you need less heals, and in turn losing a few hps here and there makes no difference really.

Overall, I think your gear is pretty good and you should be fine, just need to start in on the mobs before your anxious dps peeps in the grp beat ya to it well cept your hate transfer they should be going to town and building some hate for ya as well.
