SK, Defiler and ???

I'm looking for sugestions of a melee style class to add to an SK and Defiler. Which class can bring the most utility to this group? I know I'm limiting things with being a melee, but I don't enjoy casters to much.

I was thinking a brigand or swashy maybe. They bring de-buffs, decent DPS, another evac, group invis, and travel speed at lower levels.

This is a trio that we plan on keeping together, on the same quest lines and such. We want to see as much content as possiable, and maybe even try some instances.

Me and 2 friends of mine were in the same situation as you. We grouped from lvl 5 or so up to now (78). They are SK and assasin, and im a warden. There's really nothing we've run into that we couldn't kill. Always killing regular mobs 3-5 lvls higher than us, and ^^^'s 1-2 lvls higher. We've all had quested/mastercrafted gear the whole time we've leveled.

So I'd suggest something with alot of DPS like assassin, wizzy/warlock (Tho you don't want a caster) or swash (at higher lvls anyways, as far as i know). With any class other than those you may run into power issues b/c of lack of DPS.

All I can think of atm.

I'd possibly say Dirge or Brigand. Swash works too.

really you should try and get a necro they can do little heals and big nukes also weird
pets like so

if you are only taking melee get a brigand huge debuffs and poison users are always good

I 3 box with Shadow Knight, Defiler, Dirge all the time, not much you can't kill with that setup really. Dirge if played well can dps really good, and they bring things like Stoneskin, Power regen, and lots uber buffs to help your SK put more damage out as well. So i'd have to vote Dirge. But if ever a caster was chosen instead i'd go with illusionist all the way, time compression and IA ftw.

I concur with Mike - IMO Dirge hands down.

I agree a there are a lot of decent choices out there and of course choose the class you'd enjoy more, but IMO the Dirge will bring more to the table for this small group. Plus if played well a Dirge can put out some nice DPS (especially once SoE fixes their epic proc).

Here are just a few things a dirge will have:
Song - Stone Skin
Song - Power Regen
Song - Parry increase
Song - DPS increase
Song - STR / AGI increase
Song - Slash, Crush & Pierce increase
Song - Hate increase
Song - Melee attack proc

Spell - Chimes of Blades (17 sec melee attack boost)
Spell - Good Debuffs
Spell - Gravitas for healer and self
Spell - Back up rezzer
Spell - Small emergency heal

(red songs are those songs I use most and yellow are alternates that I switch out depending on group set up)

I vote dirge too .. dirge can dps nicely and the buffs .. oh I love them .. I'm 2boxing my sk with dirge all the time
