Hi again.

In looking at Lopann's thread regarding what gear raiding SK's wear, I'd like to get an idea of what type of gear I should have before I go on the search for the ever-elusive raid guild that will let a SK raid.

Basically, in Lopann's list, what of that gear is groupable? What's the best gear I can hope to get my hands on before raiding?

That's a loaded question I realize - but I cant imagine applying to guilds wearing MC gear...there's gotta be a step in between right?

I'm just going to shoot from the hip and mention a couple of the nice fabled items off the top of my head:

Ganak's Torque and Praetor's Guard from the last mob in Vaults of ES

MC and the Sanctification/Ravaged set is probably some of the better armor you will be able to get that I can think of at the moment besides the Dreadscale Greaves that drop off named in JW and the Breastplate of Deflection from the named in Sebilis. Incarnadine Earring from the last named in Chardok is also groupable. You'll just have to run instances and check the broker to gear yourself as best as you can. There is a decent shield from Vaults of ES too called Arcane Greatwall.

I would also recommend completing the fabled version of your epic (if you haven't already) since it will help with aggro.

If this is your first time wanting to break into raiding, you'll probably have to settle with a T1 raid guild and most of the members will be geared about the same. So don't stress a ton about it if you weren't already geared from EoF/KoS.

Before raiding Vehnic basically hit the nail on the head.

Though there are a few other items, such as the new MC items from the chromatic essences (Danak Wishbone, and the Riliss Chicken Foot)

Also the Impalers Legplates are pretty killer from MC.

Lopann brought up what I totally forgot about. There are decent to good items from the chromatic crafted items (which require a Chromatic Essence).

If the Arcane Greatwall won't drop for you, the Rillis Kite shield (not the correct name, I'm sorry) and the 2% riposte/parry neck are good and easily attainable items to get and start off with. I suggest AT LEAST a Danak Wishbone charm (if not both depending on your charm slot setup).

You need a Woodworker for the shield and an Alchemist for the neck piece. You will need a provisioner for the charm items (which Lopann mentioned above).

Awesome Info, thanks you guys. From a weapons standpoint - fabled epic makes sense, what about the 2hander? Swords of Destiny questline?

Soulfire Longsword PWNs but that was EoF... The Spine of the Scorpikis is by far superior when your at the str cap, and the quest is much easier to complete than the SoD questline (Anaphylaxis questline).
