Man, I wish I still played. I am missing out on good times. I want to say Skar sucks. But he's like the Supreme SK of Unrest now. Not much of an accomplishment, but still. It would be fun to have Sk War with you.

I think you might be the only "Hardcore" Sk left on Unrest. Hell, Jeal and I betrayed. I don't think either of us plays anymore either.
That being said, you run the SK Underworld of Unrest.

Well here is my 2 cents on this issue i want changes i would just like for our dps to scale to level and maybe something to help with more aggro controll i mean bottem line we know more or less SOE couldn't give a shit but i'm one of the lucky SKs whos got a spot in a raid guild i'm the OT which inturn is fine by me but i feel for the rest of you who have been pushed out by the lack of care for this class i do know it's unfair and i hope one day we get a fix i just wish we would get a heads up if we should quit or reroll cuz SOE doesn't have the time for us and if any other class wants to jump all over me like they done to others please note i do OT on avatar kills

Nah.. ahaha, they've all betrayed or quit. I remember when I found out Jeal betrayed, I was just like fuck it.
Ariestes might still be around, I highly doubt it though tbh.
Ahaha, we were both in Executioners and they've become something entirely different. I know a friend of mine made a sk called Veiled, I don't know what his status is.. I do know it's in Random Evac.
All the top guilds on the server have Paladins, Confirmed has Mahngus and Ascendant has Tharinor. Revelations is pretty much piss poor and i've never paid much attention to them.
So yeah, Skar is the top-dog.

So I was playing around in SoH the other night and got some more thinking in...... I was parsing a consistant 3k-3700 in SoH the other night with a Illy, troub and inq in group. Parsing around 3500 while tanking with a 2h. Would have no doubt topped 4k a few times if I'd had Tandem to boot.
So as long as your group is stacked, SK's can be one hell of a wrecking ball. The problem is that there are too many facets of an SK to be truly effective unless all aspects are taken care of.
Melee needs buffed
Spells need buffed.
Both of the two suck major balls alone. Crusaders are very unique in this respect for two reasons:
1. We can do OK with any type of utility.
2. We can do EXCEPTIONAL with two utility.
3. If you get dps mod, haste, IA, tandem, caster buffs, troubie buffs, and inq buffs... we can do 4k... reasonably equipped. I don't think any other fighter (equally geared) is capable of that.
MT/OT:
For this one, you need to be grouped with a dirge. Well fuck! - there go all your spell buffs. Now, only half your abilities are buffed.
(yea yea there is spell haste... but our shit is fast enough already)
We just do not have the DA to keep up with the warriors in this group setup - thus making us less effecient tanks. Not to mention we dont take damage like they do.
DPS:
I'd venture to say the perfect SK mage group would be with Illy, troub, inq, war, wiz. However, then your inq isnt being very raid effecient, and you are sitting very insufficient for an OT. You are then in theory a lesser effective ranger, that can tank a little longer.
With a dirge alone (fully offensive), I do around 2000-2600. With a troub I do 2000-2600. With an Illy I do about 2000-2600. Put on def stance and the range of each of those drops about 500dps.
Combine any of the two, and I jump to 3k. Combine 3 (god knows that will never happen) it starts to mellow, but I could hang around 4k almost all day.
But heres my point... each side of the SK is too weak. Melee - not enough to carry our dps on its own. Spells - definately cannot care us on its own.
So the more I look at it, we must be bumped up as a viable tank - not a DPS class. If we cannot tank well, the rest is mut...might as well be a real dps class - and I think a lot of guilds see it that way.
On to problems keeping us from being a really solid tank that can really take a hit. (the same reasons I RARELY EVER put on all my mit/avoidance gear)
Problem #1
Our Off->Def stance INT and skill loss is too high - it affects TOO MANY aspects of our class that are too weak alone already (spells and melee). Its too much to max out Disruption and Slashing and INT and STR and STA and AGI and WIS that our defensive stance REALLY kills us - hell, it kill us alone just to NOT to use our offensive stance.

Problem #2
Our spells get no real buffs in a normal MT group - making us once again halfway effective. When combined with #1 above, the result is further recognizable.

Problem #3
We are an AE class in single target content.

To make us more effective with "one-or-the-other" group setups:
1. Focus Casting:
Convert all CA's into spells?
2. Focus Melee:
Converts all spells into CA's? And change our INT line to crit 68% on CA's also?
Ok done thinking and time to go home. I'll think of more later i'm sure.
