I think most of our troubles arise from PoS SK's (or ignorant people that lack SK class knowledge) giving us a bad rep, which then undoubtebly sends word to the raiding core along the lines of "SK's suck, why would we want one." I've learned that most of those fucktards go with the general concept then, than looking into what we can actually add to a raidforce.

The truth of it in my opinion, and experience, is that I've done anything just as effectively as any guard I've grouped or raided with. I just think its a lot more work from the player-side as an SK.

Take Dogmae for example - I'd like him to chime in actually... How would you say he fares compared to the other 200 or so raiding guardians in EQ2 serverwide? I bet he could out tank 85-95% of the hardcore raiding Guards? Maybe I'm off a bit - but I bet its close.

Can I do as well as a VP geared Guardian from Confirmed? Hell no... not at this time at least. I will say that if I raided with them 7 nights a week though, that very soon I could easily tank VP as an SK. Sad thing is that its harder to get into a guild like that as an SK, as it is to take my own guild to VP.

Do I spend most of my time tanking? No, only when our guard is sick or something. Hell I just tanked PR and all but the OK in Kor-Sha the other night without any problems... with 3 groups nonetheless.

Its quite obvious that this expansion is in no way favorable for a SK, but its still liveable. I still get tells from random friends asking me to come tank this and that for them, because their guardian sucks and is losing agro.

I've tanked all the dominus (x4 mind you) with 2 healers in our 7 man raid. Last night I tanked chelsith with 0 healers, 2 assasins, and a brigand - the retarded healer left after the first worm because I didnt want to use my shield - looks to me like its the healer that sucked.

Now ask some guardians if they think they can pull either of those off.

If you cant cut it, I guess leaving is the only option at the moment. We will be back on top again sometime or another. All its going to take is some more diverse content that mixes single/AE targets more effectively, and walla, we have our niche again. But for now I'll just enjoy my three nights a week raiding, and see what happens in the future.

Personally, what made me end up getting tired of the game was just lack of shit to do. EQ2 is boring, if I actually liked the raid content of RoK I might of stayed around, but that shit is subpar. I am not interested in going hardcore so feh.

I'm happier now that i've quit. I miss some friends, but I don't miss the game. I certainly don't miss $oE.

I bet there are more People into Actually playing guards then is percieved here. Out of any class you can find some people that are realy good at certain aspects of it.

But does this dictate class balance ? No, I mean I can theoretically say that no class needs changing at all.. and that was before the ranger/coecer revamp...

To me, theres fundamental things that need to be looked into and overdue with the class. Esp direct number comparison wise. All you realy need to do is put the time and EFFORT into learning it, theres no magical thing about it.

Sitting here saying omg this person did this, this person did that, is not going to get us anywhere on this, and its not a even a valid discussion.. My Parses in SoH right now, are just below assasins, That is the only class thats beating me in DPS, NO others If we have 1 assasin in the raid, Im 2nd on parse.. if we have 2 im Third on parse, its a given at this time. But am i going to come here and spout out that SK DPS is just fine as it is ? No, Cause im Sitting here looking at, what the fuck it actually takes me to get to do that. and the simple fact that if I start straying from it, I'm Screwed.. The medium ground is my current focus, and what the class is actually supposed to do...

Things Like groups, is pretty much null, Its like assasins testing parseings on the wall in Kunzar, The wall does not have enought HP to actually be of any use ... Thats where we are at in group zones. The mobs have to low of DPS and To low on hit points to properly say about comparisons on them. With a great healer, Tanking is realy not a focus on these zones at all... But step into raid factor and you can start picking things apart.
