Default Leaving due to a lack of Developer involvement

I can not wait around any longer for the possibility of a class revamp
I have played an SK from the earliest days and was among the first to reach 80.

I have one more level 80 and 2 more 71+ characters and none gave me the satisfaction of playing the Shadowknight used to bring. Each of the other classes I play has their own minor issues but each finds a place among end game content. (Brigand, Mystic, Inquisitor)

I have tried every conceivable way to make our class viable in the current game environment and I finally am throwing in the towel.

In the end I left not simply because our class has issues but because of the lack of acknowledgement by the development team that the issues exist. It should not be too much for a game community to receive a message of acknowledgement or a confirmation that their current design is as intended.

I hope for your sakes the dev team decides to revamp the class but they will not have my $30 each month any more.

Good luck and good bye.

i read something that pitty wrote in another chat and i completely agree with him i dont understand why everyone is so focused on a revamp sure thier are some things that would help if we were revamped but honestly we do just fine... maybe its a lack of knowing your class... we can parse we can tank we can perty much do w/e we want what else does everyone want? were not gaurdians were not meant to be the best tanks... is it that everyone is comparing to what other tanking classes can do? if so if we wanted to be like a palli and have that same kind of agro control they had than they would have to revamp the pally to have the same kind of dps we have.. believe me i could pick and choose a lot of things i wish were different but i do just fine with the sk i play

right on.

I agree with your post and what pitty had said. Just minor tweaking would be nice but nothing drastic like the coercer revamp. The class as a whole isn't bad; again just lil things here and there.

However... gear and itemization is an issue, not just for crusaders, but all archetypes.

There are many issues with SK's. The fact is though that once we start getting geared up in the high end raid zones the disparity isn't as bad as it is all the way to that point, of course excluding the "epic" fail. Where the biggest disparity is, is when you come into RoK for the first time, and compare yourself to warriors in terms of tanking. Hands down they just take a beating better. So, me, like most SK's took on the role of leaning more towards DPS to be valued a little more on raids. Pre-epics, I was consistently in the top 5-7 on parses. Than epics come out, and the DPS of SK's plummeted when compared to all the other classes.

Can SK's OT, yes. Can they MT, a few can handle the harder mobs...but not many. Can they DPS, well until everybody in your guild gets their epics yes. Can they do these things as well as the other fighters...nopers.

I loved my SK. Made him at launch. Geared him up through many nights of raiding. Impressed many people that thought SK's sucked, but was constantly just short that little bit that would have moved me from a good tank, to a great tank. Most of the hard-core SKs left, are just extremely good players, and being put into one of the other tank classes, I believe that these players would be the best tanks in the game...there are only a few that really know how to excel at their class, against all the odds.

Do I think SKs need a complete revamp, naw. Do I think they need more than a couple minor tweaks, yes. Itemization from level 1 - 80 needs to be redone with crusaders in mind. AA's need a serious looking at to be useful. Base spell damage needs a raise, as well as DoTs should be doing a lot more damage. HT is a joke. Raids in RoK need to be redone and include a lot more groups so that the crusaders and zerkers are utilized more. And the list goes on........
