Re: Leaving due to a lack of Developer involvement
There are many issues with SK's. The fact is though that once we start getting geared up in the high end raid zones the disparity isn't as bad as it is all the way to that point, of course excluding the "epic" fail. Where the biggest disparity is, is when you come into RoK for the first time, and compare yourself to warriors in terms of tanking. Hands down they just take a beating better. So, me, like most SK's took on the role of leaning more towards DPS to be valued a little more on raids. Pre-epics, I was consistently in the top 5-7 on parses. Than epics come out, and the DPS of SK's plummeted when compared to all the other classes.
Can SK's OT, yes. Can they MT, a few can handle the harder mobs...but not many. Can they DPS, well until everybody in your guild gets their epics yes. Can they do these things as well as the other fighters...nopers.
I loved my SK. Made him at launch. Geared him up through many nights of raiding. Impressed many people that thought SK's sucked, but was constantly just short that little bit that would have moved me from a good tank, to a great tank. Most of the hard-core SKs left, are just extremely good players, and being put into one of the other tank classes, I believe that these players would be the best tanks in the game...there are only a few that really know how to excel at their class, against all the odds.
Do I think SKs need a complete revamp, naw. Do I think they need more than a couple minor tweaks, yes. Itemization from level 1 - 80 needs to be redone with crusaders in mind. AA's need a serious looking at to be useful. Base spell damage needs a raise, as well as DoTs should be doing a lot more damage. HT is a joke. Raids in RoK need to be redone and include a lot more groups so that the crusaders and zerkers are utilized more. And the list goes on........
