With the current state of the game and class, what do you guys feel the best Raid group is for our class? What will maximize DPS in other words? I have been shuffled around so many groups this expansion and unfortunately have landed on the short bus most of the time.

Lately I have been placed with Defiler, Illy, Swashy which is alright for INT. But definitely lacks the proc/DA boosts.

If you could have your druthers, pick your perfect group here.

Perfect group for SK DPS-wise imho:
dirge, troub, illu, fury, mystic

I personally think, that this group is nearly perfect for Tanking also

dirge for melee buffs, troub for caster buffs, illu for TC, DA, tandem, int, etc, fury for int and str buff and mystic for buffs and RoA

but, ok, that is just for maximized SK DPS, and who needs an SK in any case

TBH, the best group we could have for DPS, we would never get in a raid setting, at least not on any real content (VP+). Because it involves a troub and dirge.

As an OT, I roll with --> Inq, Dirge, Assassin, mnk, fury. The dirge and inq combine for some nice dps. We do not have an extra templar or shaman atm, so... I do more dps and take a tad more dmg. But I'm getting by fine with an Inq/Fury healing me.

If i'm tanking lots of AE shit, I like to party with the troubie instead.

But yeah, can't go wrong with dirge, fury, illu for dps. GL getting a dirge though.

Tanking:
1. As an OT I roll with a Mystic, Assassin, Dirge, Illusionist and Inquisitor/Templar. (Always depends on who shows up, but this is most consistant)

2. If I was to hand pick a group, would be Defiler, Swashie, Dirge, Illusionist and a Templar.

DPS:
1. Again, hand picked group - Inquisitor, Fury, Illusionist, Dirge, Troub.

But if you have the pull and the guild flexiblity to do that then good for you, I don't.

I used to have Mystic, Coercer, Swashy, Dirge, Inquis, SK was very good grp dps wise as well as surviveablity. I recently lost my inquis, so i swaped that spot with a fury/warden untill i can find another inquis.

Really tho, I can DPS roughly the same in any grp, and maintain the ability to ot in almost any situation. This is what I think is the SK strong point on a raid, it's the fact we can do well and fit in well with damn near any grp and still manage to get the job done. Main thing you need is tons of gear tho, thats the draw back to the jack-of-all-trades classes. Any grp will do, just set your gear up to be self sustaining. For instance Sac dps gear for crit gear when your gunna be getting impatus... etc.
