looking for advice on a new trees set up. I have my STR and INT lines maxed and half of my AGI filled on one tree the next I have my hate gain maxed and working on my reaving line. should I wait until I have my AA's maxed out at 140 which I have 107 now or should I go ahead and use my mirror now. Im doing good dps but feel I might be able to get better DPS or a more solid Main Tank any suggestions.

I did not know you could have multiple mirrors now when did this happen? still looking for ideas on peoples opinions on the best tree alignment for our class the set up I have now is a great all around jack of all trades but master of none.

Ditch AGI and go STA.

SK Tree it doesnt really matter, just get all three end abilities.

I have 2 mirrors and 3 builds on my SK alt.

First build is stricly for soloing. Emphasis = dps & survivability

4-4-8 int

21 points for reaver

6-8-8-0-2 str

5 points in FD

2nd build is for tanking, emphasis aggro and survivability

21 points in the taunt line

4-4-6-8-2 str

working on reaver

3rd build is for playing a dps role in groups, emphasis dps

4-8-8 int

6-8-8-0-2 str

4-1 agi

working on the debuff taunt in the EOF tree

I will prolly get flamed for not included in the int line on my tank build. I will get it eventually. The aggro benefits from the the tuant line, str line, and the healing from reaver worked better. I had the int line before I got the mirrors and I noticed far more aggro once I maxed the EoF hate tree and picked up the max str line, then with the 4-4-8int.

One thing I have noticed in EQ 2 vs EQ 1 is people are extremely dps happy. Heck on my Sk in EQ 1 I often did zero dps on certain mobs as I just turned off my auto attack to avoid mega riposte damage and could tuant with my spells.

Sure dps is important when holding aggro, but dont discout the value of hate modifiers and your taunts. Dirges, swashes and coercers get raid slots because of hate modifiers and your taunts are hands down your best threat per second and threat per power abilities you get. Expecially after you upgrade them with the hate tree.

Dont believe me, do the math: 1 point of damage = 1 point of threat

M1 level 79 nuke "malice" 414-690 damage, 1 sec cast, 20 sec recast, 96 power = 20-33 dps or 20-33 threat per second.

M1 level level 72 single target tuant "insinuate" 1634-1995 damage/theat dot, .25 cast, 8 sec recast, 60 power. = 198-242 threat per second.

Rank 3 of enchance insinuate upgrades resistablity by 30%, in addition to that helped taunting affect from the rest of that line.

Its not even close.

I would say that after investing 21 points in the hate tree and grabbing the max hate modifier from the str my ability to hold aggro improved by 50% over my old generic build of 4-4-8 int and reaver. Sure my dps suffered, but when your tanking I feel suriviabiliy & aggro trump dps. Guardians tank raids because of their aggro and surviability, not because of their dps. (although their dps is out of whack). Nobody gives a guardian a raid slot to dps.

I will pick up on int on my tank build however after I get done on the reaver tree.

My final tank build will prolly look like something this:

4-4-8 int

4-4-8-8-2 sta

4-4-8-8-2 str

reaver & hate trees maxed and whatever in pools tree.

EoF is a no-brainer if you just think about it. Reaver line, then hate line, then Decay line.

Hate modifiers affect you hate gained from DPS also. Its a good thing too!

Taunts are extremely outdated. My hate per second from DPS far outweights my hate per second from taunts - any SK that holds agro at any successful rate will say the same.

There are not enough [good] hate proc items out there for a tank to rely on. Our taunts are not enough to rely on.

This is one tremendous problem with this game right now, tanks have to do extreme dps to keep up with the raid dps. We cannot focus 100% (specially SK's) on defensive gear.... we have to balance the dps side into it. That is even with Dirges, Swashies, Coercers, and Assassins in the mix.

Is it really fair to compare 11 spells/CA to 1 taunt? Of course spaming 11 spells/CA in a row is gonna be more threat then spaming 1 taunt every few seconds.

I was just saying on a threat per second comparison of 1 taunt vs 1 nuke/dot/CA, tuants are the best threat per second ability you have, especially at the lower levels and for the non raiders who dont have all the + crit and + damage gear, my SK is level 48 alt lol, he needs his taunts.

Are you sure about this? I haven't tested it, though my SK can make mirrors. As far as I know from talk in the official TS forums you can have as many mirrors as you want but still only swap out one profile period.
