With my normal raid set OT or MT group I believe I run like 780'ss on Int in Offensive. Much less in Def of course but that is how I get 71% avoidance.

And Iskar if you want to look, my Eq2 profile isnt blocked, so you can see what my spec is....

After reading this post again, including everyone's post after the original, why did you title this "Just my Thougts on Being an Sk"? Your agrument seems to be about the subclass set gear of Sancuary or Demonguard. If you are a "raiding" SK the only item from either of those sets that I could see using would be the chest because of the +5 Shield Block chance. Maaayybe the helm or legs for the stats of dps'ing only, not tanking.

Picking and piecing the gear together is the way of the game, there is never going to be a complete end all be all 7/7 set gear that our class is going to want. Even VP, the highest end raid SK's only wear the 5/7 pieces to get the x2 Bloodletter, they sub the Demonguard chest piece and the last expansion's Avatar boots.

My gear is picked and pieced together from T1-T4 gear, and it seems to work very well for me, whether I am tanking or dps'ing.

I realize that our class needs some Dev help, and that itemization, class abilities and over all tank/dps needs some work compared to other tanking classes. But I think the stigma of SK's sucking, has more to do with the person playing the class than it does the class itself.

Agreed with everything Vin said. Especially the last sentence...

My point has pretty much been missed, in all sorts of directions lol ..

I run on about 6 sets of gear.. 4 are pretty much tanking... I see the parses, The logs and the variance each set gives off.. The two major sets obviously are 1. STR/STA/AGI (I not meaning AA speccing) 2. (STR/STA/INT).

Understand EQ2 Players takes a century to refresh gear, So pretty much would just make an ass of yourself just going by that alone, Esp with all the different combinations i use.

THe thing is We are an Offensive class that uses Lifetaps to help in the lack of avoidence factor.. Unfortunetly that doesnt work out number wise at all..

Hence alot of people are speccing STR/STA/AGI in stats (Not INT) .. Like vin said in def he is roughly at 550int depending on the grade of offensive spell it could be less... this to obviously gain .. 5% more in avoid that our def stance gives us.

I took loot tables from CoA/Vaulst/Courts/Seb/CHardok/Mastercrafted/treasured/KC... Debated on RE2 but i dont have that in full and its a late add on..

T1-T3 ... T4 I DO NOT WANT. (there realy is not that many issues on that end to debate it at this point ... certainly not with this stuff,)

Plan was to get a comparable downgrade to tier 4 aka..

650+str
650+int
Def stance Up
50-55% avoid

FIrst Tried with Group gear.. Hell would of even settled for 45% and such .. But its not possible.

Added T1-T3 Some items helped .. Like PR's Charm... The Ring from PR .. and so forth but no go.. other big items was the greaves and BP from the failed Demon Guard suit and it cuts close ...

to answer some of the strayed things that came about ...:

1. No I do not know about the name of the post.
2. No the class is not hard to play, (consistancy would be nice) I've tanked chelsith in Devout gear and in Offensive stance ... Imagine a gear spec and ill do it, without problems in any group content in this game hands down...
3. No Gear is not hard to get (Not sure why this brought up at all) hell i have 6 dam suits ....

Now a question i have:

I have never said the class sucks: I have harped on the "Real" gap that there is between Group/mid Raid and T4. But why is it, that the ones who defend blindly always have "sucks" and "class" in the same sentance .. ;P..

But i will reitterate this .. nov - jan its been pretty hushed on Actual SK's going in and tanking the new content first hand... But yet now after the influx of gear and masters to dumbyfy everything we are finding more and more sks tanking .. This is a pretty bad position for the class to be in.

I was the first tank class in my guild to 80 / 140 and was tanking and clearing mc at lvl 77. We didn't start raiding new raid zones until jan, and our MT guard was still not lvl 80, so I tanked it all. PR, Thugga, Exe Throne, and with only druid healers. We also after clearing all of t1 and t2 raid zones lost our MT and so our first kill on Levi was with me MTing it, and we progressed thru vp up to druushk and nexona with me as the MT, we even used a monk to tank all said zones several times as well. I am sure there are others out there that have done it as well before they were vp gear'd or whatever as well, maybe it's just not that big of a deal so no one trys to brag about it, so thats why know one ever hears about it?

I totally misunderstood what you were saying there I appologize for that, I had always assumed you meant aa specs on that lol. IMO, no one should waste much time trying to boost their agi stat, for the sacrifices you would make to boost this stat you could do more else were. To explain your agi stat only boosts your contested base avoidance, which means 1000 agi vs a mob 8 lvls higher does almost nuthing for you, were as your contested skills such as def and parry you can boost over 500 to 550 wich = a lvl 100 mob roughly which allows for greater avoidence, Instead focus more on STR,Int, Sta tbh. Str will allow for larger Auto atks, int helps your spell atks and well sta = hps, the rest are just kinda by products.

Well can gladly say i stand corrected on this then, and hopefully will be a better trend for upcoming expansions. Hopefully we will see.

Yeah which is the thing, looking over loot tables, this is literrally focused on STR/STA/AGi gear, which clincthes the gap thats being seen. I saw this occurreing in EoF though thought ahh well better luck next expansion lol.. .Well here I am. And running with bids about the next one....

Wow, a couple of you have guilds that love you enough to go /hardbutton.

Somehow that makes up for all the imbalance.

Devs...you can call off any future review of our class, we found 3 or 4 SK's with with /happyface.

Thank you for saving us guys, I feel better already.
