Yeah I just ran a test with the siphon strike: grim strike and unholy arms: grim strike it does show the same on ACT in a minute fight as what I posted u can see it was used twice during that encounter so u can estimate what the actually damage of Unholy arms buff does...however I ran another test with Valor in battle...valor in battle effects both Siphons trike: grim strike and unholy arms: grim strike

not sure if this was intentional or not...but guessing how both abilities are tied to the same proc spell or termination spell it kinda makes sense... but whatever the matter u benefit from 2 abilities with that one aa enhancement.

Siphon Armorment isnt as situational as you would think. This skill can be used on Shaman pets which classify as Fighter types. Thats a free 600ish mitigation for grouping with a shaman or brawler.

Evil I am not sure which shamans you group with, but almost EVERY shaman I know never uses it. Here is why.

1. All raid instances have bosses with huge dmg aoe's, frontals etc. Not only do you have to send your pet in at the right time to not take the frontal, changes are EVEN if spec'ed right it will die from an AOE because the shaman pet only has a CHANCE to not die from them.

2. EVERY TSO instance, boss or mob have aoe autoattack dmg. Their pet, and your buff will last about 2 mins.. If that.

3. A Brawler. Why would you group with one? There are higher dps classes in the game and hopefully you are the one tanking in this group. The ONLY brawler I have ever wanted to group with is a guy name Glok, he is in my guild and parses like 10k.

4. Find yourself 2-3 armor upgrades and you replaced the spell.

A mystic who is strength line specced for the dog proc ward. Makes the pet immune to aoes.
The 'chance' is a proc for group members, the dog is permanently immune to aoes.
Already got the second void knight shard set, Im just saying that the spell isnt useless. 600 mitigation is the equivalent of one fabled piece of gear.

Please remember this is a spec build for grouping, soloing, and overall dps. With the gear I am wearing, and running with a guild group or at least another raiding guilds group, I dont need DA at all.

I did mention in my post that my Mirror spec is STR/STA/INT with Divine Aura has the highlight of the spec. I ran with

STR 4-4-8-8-2
STA 4-4-8-8-2
INT 4-4-8

for almost a year, without EVER thinking of something different. Divine Aura is a godsent on pulls a lot of times. I love the spell. But with as much self healing I can do now, in grouping, I dont need it.

But there have been a few pickup groups that will remain unnamed that I WISH I had it. Example: Was in Lower Guk pick up, prolly a bad idea go begin with, but after 1million HP healed by me on the ZW. The Mystic was at 970k and Fury at 1.1mil. I MEAN COME ON! I am the TANK I shouldnt be even close to that.

I am glad we are talking about this, will allow others to determine this abilties worth to them.

How often do you group with a shaman that uses the pet from the STR line?

How often do you find a necro or conj willing to lower dps with a tank pet?

How often do you find yourself grouping with a monk or bruiser?

If you find yourself going, ya, I seem to be around those peeps alot. Than yes, you are gaining 600 FLAT armor, which is considerable for sure.

If not, find something else to spend your points. And Evil, thank you for posting on the ability.

Because not everyone is in consistent groups. You might be aware, but sometimes not all groups are ideal, and you have odd classes/friends you will play with regardless of it not making your group a min/max set up.

I've had it trained in the past, and used it a few times. While nice, the usage of it is too situational and there are better options to train the points in for that tree.

3/5 eh? I will have to look into it. I "think" my 2mins 44 sec is off. I posted all of this from memory and knew a small portion of my information would be off.

The normal people I run with have a few over zealous casters, they like nuking on body pulls before I have even taunted. FD is a fast way to drop their agro completely. And hearing them yell "WTF I CANT CAST!" in Vent NEVER gets old.

This also makes me feel more like the SK's of old in EverQuest when I could FD ever few seconds. I find myself running around and exploring places solo where I would get my ass handed to me and the fast refresh just makes it faster for me to explore.
