Dark Elf has deaggro, 30 sec dps buff, hover (fluff), 3 min Out-of-Combat power regen, permanent 2% DA + 2% spell crit, +3% max power.

Really not a bad choice.

I was thinking about rolling a dwarf pal and betraying him SK for the extra aoe + the hp and other racial bonuses.

Coming from an assassin, it is amazing fun to get the newb quests "Kill 10 X" and say to myself ok, lets pull all 10 right now. Granted this is my experience with a level 10 sk but you get the point haha

I made my High Elf SK on 14 Nov 2004 -- well before racials meant anything. Now that they do have something of a purpose, this is what I get from it:

Crappy Green AE spell.
+5 defense
+5 parry
3% max power increase
+2% spell crit
+5 disruption
Feather Fall

Not the greatest, but far from the worst either, imo.

Meh, pick whatever you want. If you're relying on any of the racial abilities to pull you through tough situations then you're not doing something right. Go for whatever is asthetically pleasing and stick with it, you'll be glad you did.

I went erudite, the out of combat power regen is nice (its 24 @ lvl 32 - scaling quite nicely) the AE is the second highest damaging spell we have, after harm touch and on a 3 min timer, oh, and did I mention it was AE??!! also 2% spell crit, a ward that seems a bit weak, hover, and the other stuff everyone else gets anyway. also have an arasai sk (lvl 80) stopped playing him though as it just didn't feel right

Glide is nice, so is wind walker, but both still fluff.

at the end of the day tho, just go with whatever 'feels right' or looks good.
