Default DPS SK Question

Hello All,
I have recently returned to EQ2 and have been hearing the SK class has changed quite a bit. I have been outfitting my SK with new gear and i was wondering if anyone could tell me which combat bonuses are more
important for a DPS SK. In what order of importance would you say for the following?

+Double Attack
+Melee Crit Chance
+Damage Spell Crit chance
+Spell Damage
+Combat Art Damage
+Damage per Second
+Attack Speed

I would say that spell crit is the most important, as the vast majority of our abilities are spell-based, and they enhance procs as well. My first consideration with all gear swaps after resists is maintaining near 100% spell crit.

Double attack can be very powerful, however much like dps mod it is highly dependent upon your weapon. If you have a mythical, double attack is probably your #2 priority after spell crit. If you have a good weapon, dps mod can be nice however its fairly easy to obtain via buffs so I would not put a high priority on it. If you're using a mastercrafted weapon though, it's probably at the bottom with dps mod.

Melee crit is probably the #3 priority, even though it affects a minority of our dps it benefits from linear, rather than diminishing returns.

After that it would be spell damage. We have very fast cast times, which would normally be great for +SD. However, because the majority of our spells are AEs, their benefit is cut in 1/3. Still, after crits and double attack it is our best bet.

At the bottom are attack speed and dps mod. Attack speed is a little more useful if you get much of your dps from procs. +combat art damage is probably the least useful, because it only affects 4-5 of our abilities.

Another important consideration is where you are on diminishing returns and +damage caps, of course. If you're near cap the usefulness of those abilities drop.

you forgot to mention +Base Spell Damage, which makes +spell damage, and +Spell Crit much more effective, and much more desirable

I Do
Base Spell DMG
Proc Gear (GVB, ETC)
Melee Crit
Spell Crit

I really only focus on the base dmg , Proc Gear, and melee crit. Most of my dmg is from auto atks, and procs. You get really high spell crits thru aa's, so less focus is required to max it out. In a raid it should be pretty easy to get yourself almost maxed in all atributes, and still have several Proc items on.

It will be interesting to see how much of a hit we take with the GVB "correction" today.

Like others have said, I get my spell crit and bonus as high as I can, load up on proc gear, luckily get in a good buff group, and time my auto attacks to achieve the best dps I can.

True that...good luck trying to get any without the mages fighting you for it. I was told by a mage, " I'll tank the zone before I let that go to an SK!" we were talking about the waist item from Veks 2.

I'll never need on base spell damage over a mage. Not because I'm clueless as to what DPS is, but because they make more use of them. So much better stuff for tanks out there than to be needing on caster items.

But whatever guys, if you think you need base spelldamage to hold aggro you go ahead and make that wizards day miserable. I'll do things my way you do things yours. I hold aggro and put out nice numbers without em.

yeah and bards should get gear after everyone else is geared out...

i would like to see you holding aggro vs a warlock spiking 60-70k on the bigger aoe encounters without doing top dps yourself
