VS and Hateful Concussion

I know this is old content, but I have been beating my head against the wall trying to overcome it. We have mastered everything there is to the Venril Sathir fight other than his one luck based "I WIN" button... the Hateful Concussion. Multiple times we have gotten his sorry ass down to the last 10% and then he goes nut with that hateful concussion proc wiping out my power and summoning the adds. I've tanked this and our guardian has tanked this..... same issue. Any suggestions on how to get past this stupid mechanic would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a buff that can mitigate the power drain?
Is there a resist you can buff to take it out of the equasion?

Just control your power as normal (use sprint if need be) and watch out for the Detrimental that goes on you that when you cast something it rapes your power. Obviously have someone clicking the statues and tagging him with the item at the right % (67%?).

Yes, its not any of the other parts of the script that are causing us issues. Its the single targeted "Hateful Concussion" proc. The power watch, the power buff, the power drain, statue clicking, all that mastered. .... so VS uses "Hateful Concussion" FTW. We thought that the trick with that was keeping the MT over 50% health to stop the HC proc... no dice. We get VS down to 10-15% health often and then it seems his proc rate on HC goes through the roof. He opens up multiple procs until he drains the MT of all power and then pop goes the raid.

Maybe its just dumb luck. I am sure we will get him. I am just really getting frustrated with the luck factor on that Hateful Concussion proc.

I'll be honest i haven't done that in ages and i can't even begin to remember what each of the things he casts do, but i have tanked it and killed it a load of times and nothing was ever an issue. Just did what i've always stated above, i prosumed hateful was the detrimental he put on you that floats throughout the raid but i really can't remember the details.

Yeah it's a knockup/power drain, single target on the person who has aggro. Pretty sure the power drain can be warded through tho, but we haven't been in VS for along time other than 2 quick mythical flags for new members so don't know if anything has changed.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes, Hateful Concussion also has the knockup. Seems a lot of it is just luck but I hear that warding is key in mitigating the detrimental power drain.

it is triggered, i just don't remember what triggers it, i think its when someone with the power gain buff on them casts or sumthing like that cause it only drains the mt, and you get it towards the end of the fight useually because people are spaming ca's and spells to finish him off, instead of just continueing to fight like they did the other 90%. Last time i did this was like 4 months ago or more and we 1 grped him with 2 boxed toons one of which was clicking the satues of course, made it a long ass fight but a win non the less, and alot of people got their updates at 100pp a pop.
