Soloing Heroic Dungeons
Hi all,
I am going to be starting a new character and I am curoius about something. Assuming I would have mastercrafted equipment, could a SK solo heroic dungeons for experience while leveling up. For example soloing stormhold, fallen gate, ROV, Crushbone, Runneyeye, Nek Castle, etc including some of the named.
Thanks,

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
yaeh pretty much, you should be able to solo in the dungeons at level, but the instances as you get higher level, starting with eof, will be a little more difficult.

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
The old dungeons were designed before AA's, so as long as you have mastercrafted armor, a decent number of expert (adept 3) spells, and good AA's (Reaver and spell crit) you should be able to solo many of the dungeons before they gray out.
The hardest part is learning the dungeon. Except for feign death, you usually won't have the reserves to handle adds, so if you get a roaming add you could be in trouble. Some ring events might cause problems, too -- you want a little time to regen mana between fights.
EOF dungeons were designed after AA's, so they're much tougher.
If you go dungeon diving, you should level faster, but you won't get as many AA's as you would questing.

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
I have a bruiser and with mastercrafted I was able to solo every dungeon for the named aa's besides epics, very good class, illusionist i dunno, i've only ever played one for one or two raids, same with coercer.

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
If you want to lvl a toon for the reasons you've listed here then don't go illusionist. Sure they can solo very well, but are too damn squishy for what you're looking to do with it. All it will take is an untimely roamer with an untimely resist and you'll be dead.
From my experience when soloing fd is invaluable so I'd go with the bruiser or sk.

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
I am actually sorta curious about the same. I am going to be playing on a PvP server. Would fabled/legendary regular gear be better for soloing heroic content? Would pvp gear be better?

Re: Soloing Heroic Dungeons
Soloing as a chanter w/ no help from scratch is definitely fun and sometimes challenging but will in the end make you a better player on any classy imo. With chanter you really have to use your spells intelligently to succeed as a accomplished soloer.
