Default Raiding rings

Anyone use Signet of Betrayal while OTing or just dpsing in raid?

I used to get alot of shit for it since the aggro gains from it are pretty nasty.

Just wondering what options are since I use Ring of Walled Flesh and Signet of Betrayal. Already thought about getting a link put on me but yeah...not going to help if i'm needing to pick some stuff up.

Ideas?

It's awesome as the OT because it procs multiple hate positions occasionally, keeping you near the top of the hate list. I rotate between that, Tainted Ring of Anashti's Will, Signet of Kurn's Army, and Signet of Vampire Kind, depending on the fight. Mostly just flip the signets for ST/AE honestly, and always wear Tainted Ring of Anashti's Will.

Signet of Betray does no good for tanking. (also not for scouts DPS)

The name captures the spirit of the item.

DPS Gain < Controll hinder

It will let you down in the worst moment.
Will work fine on trash or mobs that that arent difficult to handle.
But if you got mobs that memwipe hard or more difficult encounters it may add the one aggro lost to much.

At least there are much better Items in the game now for SK even in the heroic Zone drops.

If there is a memwipe...the signet should proc hate instead of dehate since I wouldnt be at the top of the hate list....

jewel of animosity really isnt worth it anymore after the change. it just prevents healers from more important things on fights that matter and bugs them on fights that dont.
anyone using it is a selfish bastard

There are many encounters in the TSO raid progresseion where more then one add memwipes very often and you can get short handed on specials to get aggro back fast.
You must build up aggro again and again, so youre aggro position is relativ close to the DDs. Adds in these encounters just need 1-2 meele hit on some DDs to kill them, combined with the stuns these encounter have one deaggro proc followed by stun is enough to lost aggro one time more and risking getting a DD or even some other class killed, also maybe losing one more special to pull it back.

The taunt amount is a proc so as a tank you should be most of the time in first aggro position. So its more likely that the proc hinders you then being of use in the exact momenten when you lost aggro for a seconds. The other "hidden" proc is a 1% Proc that set the wearer on hate position one, also unlikely to be of use cause you should be there most of the time.

DDs using this Items in hard encounter causing things like:
- aggro loss wich have the same effekt to tanks like a memwipe and he has to counter, losing his specials.
- Puling Mobs into the raid with hard AEs -> Wipe
- Turning Mobs with front AEs.

For Example: Running Mobs on Anashti(which ever),Ykesha or enraged Haladan are the things you dont want.

All that makes using the Signet of Betray in tough Encounter more like tying youre Shoe bands together then being of help.

Dont get me wrong using it in grpplay or in trash encounters is no problem but as already mentioned there are much more intresting items out there.

We did Anashti last night, I was on adds, and never had one slip by and never lost aggro...was using Signet of Betrayal and Ring of Walled Flesh.

Seems to me that if we are OTing, the deaggro doesnt matter much. With the high dps and spikes in hate positions we can do, seems the dps benefits outweigh the deaggro.
