It's not, he is wrong.

Critical mitigation aside, block is next most important thing you can try to maximize to increase survivability when tanking. A temporary proc is never going to be better than something static (unless its something like a stoneskin proc).

I have'nt done the testing but I would bet my ass if you parsed out the same situation using both shields and checked your avoidance report and incoming damage it would put the Ykeshan shield ahead by a good margin.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking. That being the case even Haladan shield is probably better than Dwarven shield.

Don't compare Pal and SK. Pal already have cap of damage reduction. SK is not.

Your wrong. I would not give up 2-3% Block for a proc of 5% physical damage reduction.

The damage reduction cap is irrelevant. The point is that the constant block is better than a damage cap reduction temporary proc. Thats for any tank, not just a paladin.

As far as testing it on a non nerfed Munzok, I know you just got owned and all you have to fall back on is your guild killing Munzok before mine but that surely doesn't make you right about this.

For Paladin Shield of the Dwarven King gives nothing if you use mythic and set chest.

i tanked prenerf munzok with ykeshan guard and two healers without any problems and call bullshit on the non modifieable proc for 10 sec that only goes off of autoattack (hello hitrate) and cas (SK = spells!) making it better than ykeshan guard on any fight
battle guard offers more avoidence and hp. that makes it at least(!) equal defensive wise and it has better offensive stats.
