    Is it legal for your employer to lower your pay without written notification?

    Backstory: I live in Arizona. Back in February my deparment closing and I was told I had to either transfer to another department or I basically quit. I signed what was a transfer/offer letter which indicated I was moving to another department. That document did not indicate any decrease in pay.

    I was not initially transfered back in February, instead I had to stay on until they canned it back in late March. At that time I was again told either transfer to another department or you quit. I did not sign any new transfer/offer document but had my pay decreased.

    When I went to HR to ask what was the deal the lady made up some bullshit about base pay in the new department and how they don't have a differential. Of course I was not about to have that so I pointed out that I was never notified. I brought this up to management and was basically brushed off.

    What really pisses me off is those transfered in February did not have their pay decreased but those of us transfered in March did.

    I'm not sure what I can do about this but I'm definately feeling like I'm being fucked over. I've worked for this company for 4.5 years and have had my pay decreased twice. I should obviously quit but I'm unable to at the moment.

    Is there anything I can do?

    What Stone said. That and quit. Or cry about it on break at work. Or make a big deal and a huge scene and look like a doofus. But otherwise, I'm pretty sure you're fucked.

    then leave because union jobs are shitty places to work for anyone worth a damn.
