I came from a casual guild and fooled Remnant into taking me. Still fooling them 18 months on

I've prolly seen most of your Avatar kills and we never had a raid force there cause it wasn't during our regular raid times. Sure, there were exceptions (Mayong mostly I think) but it happened often enough.

Not to pic an argument but this isnt exactly true when i was in Validus most of the Avatars popped quite late on a night after most of us had logged off after camping for 4-5 hours same with Mayong. Even if they did pop early Fable didnt rush to kill them that early because they didnt have the ppl online.

You were in Validus a few months before I was. I'm talking about end of EoF.

We have way lower playtimes so we only had 24 level 80's in early January. We are on track for Veeshan's peak but it will take longer due to lower play times. To say that we lack skill based on that one piece of info is flawed and not based around any experience of raiding with us. I'd be happy to let you guest in some day to see how wrong you are

Yes, there are people in our guild that would fail the trials for Fable/Validus/Unity - myself included. Unfortunately beggars cannot be choosers. We could have a class up for recruitment for months without any apps. When one finally comes along we are not going to turn them away without at least trying to teach them and improve them. You are not forced to do this because you already have a team of highly dedicated, regular and skilled players making you more attractive to prospective apps.

We are a guild designed around raiding. We do nothing else but raiding. When we group it is to get gear or money for raiding. When we raid we roll hard and fast. So, again I ask you, what excludes us from the "semi-hardcore" classification? DPS maybe? If so, how much DPS do you have to put out to fit that classification and who decided it?

I know some of your members. I didn't base my judgement on just the fact that you aren't in VP yet.

In fact you then went on to prove my point:

That's what I meant. Many guilds struggle getting members so they don't decline average applicants.

Skill, dedication, pace, and the speed at which you progress through the content.
Skill - You said it yourself. You can't be as picky as Fable, Unity or Validus.
Dedication - 4 raids a week is enough to progress pretty fast imo IF you got good people who know what they're doing. Less then 4? Meh.
Pace - Prove me wrong. ;)

I'll gladly accept your invite to check out one of your raids so you can prove me wrong. Sadly I don't think my guild leaders will agree but it's worth a try. I don't know what your raid days are, though. And Saturday is Validus' only off day atm.

How can a guild that has been around for like a month be HC already?

I personally think the underdogs will kick all your asses...KOTWS FTW

Theoretically, you could call yourself a hardcore raid guild but be utterly shite. You could raid every day, turn up to Avatars and fail on every mob but you would still be raiding 'hardcore'.

I guess we'll have to add in some sort of success criteria now. We have 'the focus of the guild is raids' and 'willing and able to raid outside schedule'.

'Must not suck' is a bit vague however so it all gets a bit tricky if we try and add success criteria

Please note, I'm not talking about any specific guilds here. Especially SP one's that I know bugger all about :P

Edited to add paragraphs.

That's why I included the speed of beating the content.
If you're still in T1-T3 2 months after RoK came out chances are you "suck" at being a hardcore guild if you label yourself one.

Agreed.I'm willing to cut semis some slack though - recruiting seems to be tougher these days (at least on RE).And those T2 encounters are a massive speed bump for many guilds it seems.
