Learn2TypeFast. I can easily type text whilst figthing a mob, to change the strat on the fly, etc.

Advantages and disadvantages to both though, especially on an EU mixed language server.

I used to raid lead over ventrilo in FB. Tbh I think the French and German speaking guys were usually more confused when I spoke to them than when I typed.

We do use vent on every raid and i have really mixed feelings - I concentrate better to be honest reading instructions and listening to music. Listening to conversations and what not is just distracting and can be tiresome.

And yeah hux with vent its all too easy for everyone to get into some long winded debate about what should be going on - I'd like to just have RL talking and suggestions typed in /raid but hey i am an antisocial bitch sometimes ;)

We used TS for a long time with KoS raids, then we just kinda gave up on it..but now it's back to "harder" raiding we now use TS/Vent back again...

Tho is hard to remember which voice is what half the time

I'd like to echo that.
I almost always listen to music during raids and for that reason Validus vent can be a pita as instructions are mostly given on vent instead of being typed out.
I do enjoy the fun and banter on our vent a lot but for raid instructions it just plain sucks at least half the time. Reading instructions makes you focus more imo.

Also I just get horribly annoyed at raid leaders (in about all guilds i've been in) if they panic and start pointing out the obvious. It becomes a habit after a while so when the MT is taking lots of damage you can hear raid leaders say: "Keep the tank up. Keep the tank up." and i keep thinking: "O rly?!"

I mean, fuck, they're talking to the healers, wth do they think they're doing? It's not like it's some uber leet new strategy that is: "omg, how about we try something new today? Like: How about the healers... HEAL today."

And imo vent just encourages those stupid instructions cause it's so "easy" to give em. Whereas people prolly cant be bothered to type something stupid like "Heal the tank".

So my personal pet peeve is this: Raid leaders who cant resist pointing out something that's so ridiculously obvious that they must think we're complete retards. Stuff that makes you go "Orly?! no way! /sarcasm".

I do agree on that " keep the tank up" can be abit annoying to hear...cause that is what we are suppose to do anyway.
And I dont like ppl saying - oh im dead....- im down...etc...cause it only gives more stress. Healers usually see if ppl go down anyway.

But i try not to think so much about those things. I like the company from ventrilo...i like listening to the lads and their chitchat.
Think it would feel abit lonely if i didnt have it there. AFter all..im chatting / listening to friends. Not hearing them would feel odd.

Im not skilled with fast typing...and if i try it would need to be a translator to even see what i was ment to say. Cause i tend to slip and slide over the keys even if im not stressed....imagine the typos when I am
. THats when I prefer to have vent there.
Im in big problems somtimes cause one of my cats have a habbit of eating through the cable to the headset..think im on my 3rd set now. And then i cant speak..and that is frustrating.
