LOL after 6 months i finally have to register and make my first post and it has to be about guild theft /sigh

Yesterday we had 12 T8 m1's stolen from our GB4 aswell as 8 Tynnonnium clusters and 50g from the other 3 banks.

This was possible because we have been too trusting as a guild, basically someone approached an officer claiming to be an alt of another officer, they were automatically promoted to an officer rank and after 2 days decided to strip the above items from the guild bank.

We tracked the person down and found his alt the name of ARDYN selling the above items on the broker..

Let this be a warning to other guilds to be careful so the same does not happen to you.

A. This will teach you not to be so stupid (harsh words but true sorry).

B. If you have screenshots etc etc, have you tried to petition? And if you did let us know how it went.

Well sorry it's true. Also an idea might not be to promote Alts - just keep the mains at Officer status or whatever.

Petition it, if what you say is true then cs will deal with him and maybe get you your stuff back even. I'm sure impersonating someone else in order to rob a guild is a bannable offense.

If what you say is true then this scumbag needs to be removed asap. Again, please petition it and let cs do their job.

Aye, the officers petioned almost immediately after it happened and SOE are aware of this guy. They have recovered most of the items but Im not sure what action has been taken to the 'player' in question.

The officers have put some safeguards in place now but I must admit I didnt see this one coming. Most bank jobs usually involve bad security or accidental elevation to a rank. This person just pushed his luck and got away with impersonating an officer - simple but effective in this case. Yes we were stupid, but as I said before kicking a guild when they are down is not something I often see in the EQ2 community... well not unless they deserve it
