    Default 2014 NFL Thread

    Let's start things off right:

New Orleans Saints part ways with veterans Roman Harper, Will Smith, Jabari Greer, Jonathan Vilma

    That's good.

Cowboys win it all this year.

Used my Bovada bonus bet on it!

rofl cowboys... man that is wasted money. Not to crush your dreams, but they are the oakland raiders circa 2002-2010. Jerry Jones will never let your team be good, just like Al Davis screwed the raiders year after year.

I would mention jamarcus russell, but the league is structured differently now so that can't happen again. As far as signing rookies to 50 million+ contracts and stuff that is.

i wonder what the odds were on the seahawks this time last year.
It's only weird if it doesn't work.

I would say probably not as long as they are for cowboys. There were more than a few who predicted seattle/denver SB.

Regardless of the odds... cowboys EVERY year you hear about what talent they have, how they should be good this year, etc.

That has rarely been borne out in reality. No matter what talent they have on paper they are 8-8 year after year. It is not always Romo's fault, either.

I will say switching coordinators every year, coaching staff, etc can't help.

All of it starts with Jerry Jones though, as I said they are the new Raiders. Remember raiders and the late al davis years? That shit was a nightmare. It is not *quite* that bad yet in Dallas, but it's getting close, imo. Only the fact they are the cowboys is keeping them in the national conversation.

This has nothing to do with my question. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the odds were. I was hoping someone might know a site where you can look at what odds were in the past. I'm curious because when I go to vegas, I always pick a few of the longest odds in every sport and throw a few bucks on them just for fun. I also always throw a few bucks on my hometown teams (except for the cowboys, because I never bet on the cowboys) just for fun.

But I'm glad you got another chance to take pot shots at the cowboys and I hope it helped you get it up and show your wife a good time last night.

lol yeah that was exactly my reasoning. I'm not a gambler, but totally can appreciate the going to vegas and throwing a few bucks on the longshots. The fact you won't be on the cowboys just proves what I said though.

Also remember I was responding to this...

And thus I responded that odds on seahawks were better than cowboys, and expounded on why.

I don't bet on the cowboys mainly because of superstition. Everytime I have, they lost, and I'd rather the cowboys win than to win money. Also, I don't need to bet on a cowboy game to make it exciting or interesting, and that's a big reason I bet on games.

You still didn't answer my question. 'better than the cowboys' means nothing. Doesn't even tell me if they were a long shot. The only thing it might tell me is that they weren't the longest shot, and that's if I choose to beleive your knowledge is accurate despite the fact that you used 'probably', indicating you didn't really have a clue.
