Game is fun so far - could do with more challenge I think but I'm still in the noobie areas so we'll see when I get out of these.
Well, there are a few things they didn't put in quite yet, including a death penalty, which is planned. There are also quite a few repeatables you can exploit the hell outta to get through levels super fast, and yes, I did them numerous times.

So yeah, I'm definitely ahead of the curve a good bit.

The Microtransaction thing to buy races may seem lame, and you may think that races are an integral part of the game, but trust me, they are not. The Race Creator will allow you to create any race you want, or can imagine, and yes, you can make something that is EXACTLY like a Klingon, in looks, and you can pick all of the attributes, so actually, you can make a race that is BETTER than Klingon, call it a Super Klingon or whatever.

SO the way I see it, purchasing Klingons and Ferengi are just the same as purchasing a pre-set loadout of visual character options.

I dont know what happened exactly, but when I activated preorder I got 500 CP. Federation Klingon is like 250 and Ferengi is like 80.

Pretty cheap. But also it's just cosmetic, I dont think they get anything you can't make a custom race into.
They should rename his “survival” show Limey VS. Marginal Outdoor Discomfort

Yeah you got a pre-order bonus. There's a ton of different ones.

IMO the races don't matter AT ALL. Purely cosmetic. In fact, it's probably better to make a custom one so you aren't stuck with the 1-2 hardwired traits you get from a premade race. I don't think any quests have ever mentioned or acknowledged my captain's race (and you can have any of the races as bridge officers as well as completely custom ones).

And Ding 41 Rear Admiral, finally. That took more work than leveling up in EQ2 :P

    Grats again to Crac.

I leveled my Federation toon to level 5 and completed a quest to unlock the Klingon PvP faction. I have played exclusively as the Klingon since launch, so I can't really speak to the Fed questing part of the game.

Leveling through a PVP is a challenging (slow) albeit a little grindy. Winners and losers see rewards. There are folks that have decided to just fight naked to have 2 minute matches and to accumulate xp and rewards (PL ghetto style).

    My impression of the game:

Overall PvP 6/10 (All PvP is instanced, limited maps, balance issues, no timers, no death penalty)
    * Ground PvP Combat: 5/10 (Sluggish gameplay, controls not precise, balance issues)
    * Space PvP 6/10 (Balance issues, limited maps, QQ from both having an early influence resulting in nerfs)

Graphics 8/10 (Reskinned CoH/Cov engine utilizes my card well)

Space PvE combat: 7/10 (Not true x,y,z, flight, but engaging)

If you have played a recent Cryptic release this game will feel very familiar, but with the Trek skin.

45 is the cap, and I've been playing way too much sir. :P

And I definitely exploited the repeatables, which I see them nerfing very soon. They didn't lower how much XP it gives after the first time, so you can imagine how fast that can level you.

What did you see with regards to skill points? How close to cap are you?
