Are you Potent?

Ok, I know all Swashy's are virulent, potent master's of the... er, blade. But what are you using for Swashbuckler AA's?

I ask because recently I switched from Style / Reach to Style / Potency with extra points in Hurricane. Mainly because I felt with the decreased range that came with one of the recent LU's it didn't offer as much as it used to. But potency doesn't seem to make up for some of the extra reach I got that allowed me to hit more targets if positioning wasn't tight. So it seems on multi-mob fights I'm losing DPS because I'm missing hits on melee targets out of range if the targets aren't positions properly. Anyone else seeing this or is it me? And what are you setup with?

I have Potency

Started with Sneak and went down to both Hurricane and Engarde.

have thought about changing a few things around thought but i have yet. I was gonna drop Engarde and try something else but I am too lazy to respec.

Im guessing putting pts in Debuff is bad =\ cause for some reason I went debuff/style

Debuff isn't necessarily bad, but for raiding it isn't optimal. Debuff is fine for solo/grouping. Raiding situations offer plenty of debuffing with all the other classes so that using our debuff line doesn't make much difference.

Reach line has a nice benefit of hurricane and ease of positioning, although the arctic blast/hail of steel/ploy/swathe benefits aren't too useful.

Dazzling steel is still a very nice debuff. Fortunately it's the first of the line so you don't need to waste other points if you want to put some points into it.

You should put points into Dazzling Steel to get that debuff to over 40%. Maybe there is a class that can debuff DPS by more then 40%, I am not aware of what class that would be. The rest of the debuff line is not that impressive. Thankfully maximizing Dazzling Steel is one of the initial choices. The riposte reduction ability also seems interesting.

The problem with the debuff line is that it will not improve your parse in any obvious way.

The things is there's a cap of %dps you can debuff on a mob and in raid you and other class will reach that cap pretty fast so useless for raiding imo

its a common mistake that it debuffs with %... it only debuffs pure dps not %

my swash is style/reach atm but would probably go style/potency if i could raid with him
