So I'm looking at my proc'ing earring (the collection quest one) and comparing the chance and frequency one of the newer earrings that has +34 STR and 2% crit... and I finally swapped that out. I looked at the extra STR and how it added to my CAs and autoattack and compared that the chance and frequency of the proc... it's almost a no brainer.... except when you have some sort of proc enhancer.

What do you guys think proc vs +34 STR and 2% crit?

With the "fixed" earring, +2% Crit (or DA) hands down.

In all honesty, I focus on crits and doubleattack before anything else for post-RoK gear.

Stats are of extremely marginal benefit at the high end of the diminishing returns curve, and its easy to get 30+ STR from just about every slot with RoK legendary. Even +attack speed and +DPS are less beneficial because of the diminishing returns that they follow.

If I can get two duel weilders with 50%+ crit chances and 20%+ doubleattack without a single buff, it's going to do me more good than any minor strength boost or gimpy t7 damage proc.

Depends, if in a group with a templar and dirge you would benefit greatly from the proc earring (or any proc item) since both classes can buff proc rates. If soloing, go with the crit earring since crits can increase CA damage as well as autoattack damage, and when soloing most of your damage is going to come from your CAs. (And if you are kiting, which is a very viable soloing tactic, you might prefer range crit items). DA might win out when raiding/grouping over crits, depending on group buffs.

Generally I focus on crits when raiding/grouping. I am one of the few swash's still wis spec'd since I have yet to get a second weapon that compares with the Soulfire Sabre.

As Runaf said, don't focus too much on stats.
