Default Help with macro for raiding

I was told that I could increase my dps by creating a macro with all of my CAs and spamming the macro.

What are your thoughts? Do any of you use macros? And if so, what order to you put out CAs in?

Well considering you can only have 1 being cast and 1 que'd at a time you were both misinformed and gullible.

The macro would work, but not as you want it to.

If you have more than 2 CA's on a macro the first one is cast, then the last one is cast because all subsequent CA's cancel each other until there is none left in the macro.

Some of your CA's would never go off due to recast timers.

The only CA macro I have is Traumatic Swipe and Torporous Strike (the 2 from the rogue STR line)

Hmm... someone is misinformed.

It is not me.

You can spam a macro and it will spam the first available CA. So you can keep spamming it and it will continue down the line until it cycles through. One of our raid leaders, as well as the brigand who blows away everyone, both use macros.

Smart players use a casting order to get all their debuffs, and possibly dispatched to go off first, then temp buffs once CoB is going off, etc.

With macros there is really no way to time anything effectively and its the luck of the draw on what is up and what order they are on the macro.

Well try it out then and let us know your results. IMHO if using one macro spamming all your CAs over and over again actually increases your dps then you are beyond help as far as playing any melee class, and possibly any class in the game.

The only macros that may be helpful would be a boot dagger / stealty charge one and if you are really lazy you might couple CAs with equal recasts into a macro so you just have to click your mouse once between autoattacks and not twice.

Macros can absolutely automate some of the ability chaining that everyone is so hot for. The reuse timers are long enough to get down an entire chain before they reset.

Don't listen to the haters. No everyone with an eq2flames account is an expert. Try it for yourself.

Some people like to think that good DPS is rocket science and brain surgery all in one. Their entire self-worth is tied up in their belief that they are special because they can top a parse. It's fucking hitting buttons. The better the order, the faster you hit them, the better the DPS, with few exceptions.

The reason you're toping the parse is likely because other people are retards, not because you're liquid awesome.

Everything is hitting buttons in this game, that's nothing new.
