A small correction for the main thread. If you manage to keep the NPCs alive in the wedding instance you can talk to both there and dont' have to go back to SQ and Somborn and can start the In a Pirate's Wake quest directly from the wedding instance.
Normally this wood burns you and can spawn mobs when you approach it, but I've found if you find a pond surrounded by these nodes, you can get in the water and approach the wood slowly and usually standing below it due to the slope, and the burn/mob effect is a rare occurance. I'm not sure if this is due to positioning, height, or just standing in the water, but it made this part much faster for me.
Actually you can harvest all 50 without triggering the fire or the wyvern of unusual size (lovin the princess bride references!). If you look carefully you will notice that one end of the log is more narrow. If you approach the log directly from behind the narrow end you won't trigger the traps.
1. Map sends you to spot on top of the pillars near vaults of eternal sleep (ish), dont have exact coord. get memoirs.
2. read the memoirs! head to qeynos talk to the salty sailer near the docks. next head to the thundering steppes docks and talk to person near the island of mara zone in. last but not least head to dregs landing in kylong plains and talk to the person near the commonlands side of the docks.
3. Find the ship to catch the animus! go visit your buddy screewoggins on the enchanted lands docks!
4. Talk to screewoggin and zone in to instance and fight jones! be prepared to have a hell of a fight on your hands. He is incredibly tough. and GOOD LUCK!
