Insight now sucks - we have two borked CAs now - Page 2

Yep, its a hindrance now.

I only use it right when the tank pulls the named/raid mob. And on long fights, in the unlikely situation it repops and all my other CAs are still refreshing, or when hasted I hit it again. Otherwise I don't touch it. I always drop down one or two positions on the parse when I use it otherwise.

Glad that I'm not the only one that is left scratching his head wondering why in the hell I'm getting WORSE when Insight is up on fights that do not last long. I had figured that I was just not using it right, which I suppose could still be the case to some degree, but at least I know that other folks are noticing their parses drop a bit when popping Insight, too.

As it stands now Insight is extremely useless compared to its older versions. If you cast it mid-fight, dps goes down, because you could have been using combat arts or auto attacks that do a fuckload more damage. Only way to turn it positive is to precast it, or if you just happen to time it perfectly with a significant casting speed boost or dispatch. Just casting it anytime = fucked.

In tier 5, the ONLY time a swash would use inspired daring was when they were doing the trial in sundered splitpaw. It was a completely useless 13 second damage shield. Get your facts straight.

It was changed mid to late T5 to be what it is now.
Insight, now, is merely a temporary dmg add like the illusionist prismatic chaos, or Chime of Blades, rather than an end all swashbuckler ability.
The problem is, it still could be if it were viable to toss in a low dly weapon with a reasonable dmg spread.
I wonder, has anyone tried using the hippo axe with their normal DW spec when they cast insight? it might be possible to increase you dps during insight doing something like that, though the axe (off of druushk) is only a 2.5 dly weapon, it might do the trick.

Otherwise, my advice to you is to blow all your CAs, wait for dispatch, then cast insight when your CAs are down and blow them again as soon as they come up. I've gotten some decent results from that.

I agree on the point that the damage boost from T7 to T8 (Inspiration > Insight) wasn't as significant as I would have liked, but as a class we have always had CAs that are considerably lower then "pure DPS" classes such as predators. The shift to slower-delay weapons and autoattack boosts such as crit and doubleattack gear has changed the way our zonewide DPS is composed.

Inspiration was a more significant portion of our T7 zonewides than Insight might be, but to say it's not worth using is ridiculous. Would I like it to be as "useful" as it once was? Sure, but we have bigger issues with our class than one CA scaling. If I remember right, Insight wasn't even supposed to be upgraded this tier, it was pushed back to 80 when assassins got their "early" upgrade to Decapitate.

I think I care more about our epic being changed and Sleight of Hand being made useful than this.

I will agree that an epic change and SOH fix would be preferable to this. And Runaf, I only said that in case people were wondering why the numbers might be lower than they are used to seeing, I was in my tank gear at the time, when my sta is higher than my STR, so they're lower than usual.

Anyway. I was talking to Kell the other day and we were annoyed that it seemed fucking stupid that our VP set adds 80 to Insight, when yes, it's pretty much useless compared to past tiers. I shouldn't have to pretty much only pre-cast it for DPS to go up. I shouldn't see me DPS go down from casting it. Period. End of story. Makes no fucking sense for it to go down from casting it. That'd be like an assassin using decapitate and then being stifled and dazed for a minute.

Well, Numbers reading for me at a crazy amount of STR not even usable lol, it is only 698, For the fact that it only last for 13 seconds is stupid.. I still use it but only when i get knocked back and running back in or on pulls, Multi target mobs Insight only procs on the mob targeted not any of the mobs that Hurricane hits. Tripple Blades and Uncannly Thrusts only proc it once instead of each succesful hit. If they would change it to proc off of Hurricane and Tripple Blades/Uncanny Thrusts it would be nice, not as nice as T7 but still better.

Does anyone know if on a DA if it procs on the second attack or just the initial.

No, it doesnt proc off DA, and when did it stop proc'ing off hurricane?

Well according to Parser my Insight does not hit any other mobs that I attack expet for the one i directly target. You can look at your parser and see what mobs you attacked at what time and what hit them at that time.. Insight does not proc on Hurricane

Hurricane does proc insight.

Insight might not be as good as it once was but not using it is pretty dumb just cast it during inc.
