Default Single weapon Wis Line spec vs DW

Ok im starting to get enough AA(questing for exp ftw) to max or go down another line. My question is as a low lvl swashy(30) it seems as tho doing a single weapon vs DW and going down WIS line seems like a better idea to max dps till much later lvls when better off hand weapons become avail.? yes? no? thanks.

You're better off with STR/AGI spec for grouping while leveling, or STR/STA spec for soloing while leveling(at least until you reach the high 60s).

I Respectfuly disagree. I think the best for Grping and Soloing is Wis Line maxed with Walk the Plank.. High DA, with Coule giving you a +18 Defense +18 Parry that gives you plenty of survivability in lower levels.. but then again it is all personaly desires.

Your shitty 1H will do less DPS than 2 1Hs in DW because you are soloing, which means you are spamming CAs to kill shit fast. You aren't timing, not to mention the weapons while leveling are ass-tastic, so there is no point in timing. Auto-Attack damage is so low while leveling that CAs are way more important, which makes STR/AGI better. Although, AGI/STA probably would be better than STR/STA while leveling. Either way, WIS line is a waste while leveling because of how god awful auto-attack is during leveling since you're at best going to have mastercrafted weapons.

Well from my limited experiance (61 guard 44 ranger and now swashy) wouldnt one want to keep the str line at least down to crit hit maxed or will the dps buff really outweigh the crit hit + in the str line?

edit: even at low lvls with MC weapons timing CA between autoattacks helps a lot when soloing more then just meleeing or CA spamming with down time of autoattacks

Actually all mastercrafted weapons are now 5 second delay with huge spreads. Wisdom line isn't horrible for leveling.

exp: you hit every 5 seconds as opposed to 6.7 seconds, and high DA chances could work out to better DPS.

This has been covered so many times before..

For low levels, use the WIS line. Do STR/WIS or hell go for AGI/WIS if you wanna have some fun.

Only if you get two GOOD weapons then DW becomes the setup of choice. But I wouldnt bother with DW while levelling; that leveling will cause a good weapon today to suck tomorrow. Better stick to fencing which will give best overall performance.

Around lvl74 you could start thinking about DWing.

Oh yeah forgot to mention this: Fencing is cool

I've recently been leveling a new swashy. At lvl 35 with about 40 aa, I have seen very little difference in soloing between wis/str, wis/agi and str/agi using mastercrafted weapons (feysteel atm). Found a little better avoidance with wis/str but not anything that would make a significant difference one way or another. I've been sticking with str/agi lately just cause it has been a pain in the ass keeping my slashing and piercing anywhere close to the max. Quest leveling, especially in splitpaw, seems to really make you outlevel your skills pretty quick.

All in all, I agree with the above poster. Play however you find is fun till you start getting some really kickass weapons in your 70s.
